Love is like a seed, casually planted in the heart of two people. It must be given a chance to grow, watered, fertilized and nurtured by strong ties of proper moral values. I saw such planting once. They were young and full of zest. She was petite and loving. He was strong and hard-working. The seed grew...lopsided. For they grew rich. Egoism set in and one wanted all, the other yielded. The seedling died.

Sad truths of romance and that is not mature, ripe with love and morals, a hard to do human task. It is possible! Love does exist~ Hugs

Words of wisdom Victor, sadly sometimes the seeds of love die, no matter how hard those concerned may try… Beryl

My dear Victor. I think it doesn't matter how much you water the seeds (of love), sometimes they don't grow. That's all. This is a poem that makes you think. It doesn't matter how much you try, whatever is not for us, is not. Great poem with the wisdom coming from a wise poet. Love/María

Dear Victor, such a profound and beautiful poem. I love the title too. Such a strong, reflective message here with the seedling’s demise due to its lack of care and the right environment. So sad but so true as well. Great metaphor and I really enjoyed reading it. Thank you for sharing. Hugs and blessings.

That's unfortunate. I coined a new word- succession. It is when people are happy until they become successful, then they have a personality change. It's sad to see love die.

Victor, I admire your touching poem. It's so true that love requires the proper conditions in which to grow. A very nice picture, too.

That last line said, but so true. I believe in soulmates. A love The Lord intended for you. Enjoyed reading my friend.

wow, this is SO powerful, Victor. I love this. It's just the right size and message. Way too many couples fall into this abyss. So tragic.

At first I thought that was a young Victor in the photo... so many seeds die and too many, prematurely... Nice use of metaphor..

Egoism is sad when it creeps in the way of a healthy seedling that two loving people have planted, it does grow lopsided, that is for sure. Awesome poem. Hugs and blessings, Jennifer.

When love was planted in fertile soil, it sprouted quickly. Profound and accurate, Victor; the seed metaphor—to either flourish or perish—is one that I will always have in my memory.

This is quite probable in life. The seed of love that fell in fecund soil germinated and grew fast. Unfortunately, when life was after other pursuits and solely focused on amassing wealth, the seedling of love was neglected and it died for want of care. A great poem showing how love can die out if we don't tend it properly. Loved reading your meaningful poem dear Victor.

I enjoyed this insightful poem of yours dear Victor. Sadly, we see this pattern far too often. In youth, we are filled with energy, passion, and a love for life. We work hard and strive for success, but when we become selfish and demand everything, the result is a distorted and unfulfilling existence. Our seed of potential can only thrive when we embrace balance and selflessness, rather than letting egoism consume us. The seed of life grows..lopsided or dies. Hugs xx

Dear victor, how deep and profound is this, so well written about love. And its inspiring with a philosophical touch in it that truly hits strong! Especially loved “ I saw such planting once. They were young and full of zest. She was petite and loving. He was strong and hard-working.“ awwn! So beautiful! Young and full of zest, contributing in their own ways, to strive and sprout in love! Pleasure reading this, sending you light always

Ah, one overtakes, and one overzealous, and they've put one over themselves for they lack the proper grounds of life--thank you, Victor, as my mind was in need of exercise. Aloha, William
