Notes About The Poem

For Miranda Hawley's  'Christmas Tizzy 12 lines or less' Poetry Contest

Rudolph’s Broken Leg

Rudolph always loved it when Christmas came
because he got to lead dear Santa’s sleigh.
His rosy nose had brought him lots of fame
because in fog, Rudolph’s nose shone the way.

A week before dear Santa’s yearly trip,
the reindeer all were sliding down a hill.
Too eagerly, dear Rudolph let it rip
and broke his front leg when he took a spill.

But Santa was prepared for such a thing.
A fog light he had purchased weeks ago,
so Christmas Eve, with a ring-a-ling-a-ling,
the reindeer flew with ease through fog and snow.

Your Santa is too far sighted. In every emergency, he has some solutions up his sleeve. Quite humorous dear Andrea.... ! Merry Christmas!

Ahh!! Fast thinking and preparedness are some of Santa's traits. There must be a contest going on because I have seen several of these. This one reads like a good contender to me. Way to go. Sara K

Andrea too funny…it highlights good risk management practices and the value of planning for disaster! You’re so productive, dealing with comments makes it tough to focus on creativity!

Modern Santa, prepared for all the failing events. But no one can replace the glowing red nose. Merry Christmas.
