Utopia
"An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind.” Mahatma Gandhi
We are all looking for utopia, a place peaceful and grand,
a place with no wars or hatred, an amicably shared land.
A world where all is lush and green and very plentiful.
A land of riches where fruits and vegetables are bountiful.
We will never reach this ideal if we continue with our discord,
with years of ongoing wars started from the desire to worship one lord.
Leaders with no moral compass and who are worshiped and followed,
as more people are influenced as their values are lost and swallowed.
We can treat others with respect as we nurture our peaceful sense of place,
and with no need for continued hatred based on one’s religion, beliefs or race.
We need to find ways to accept other's individuality and preferences,
and not to react with violence or make hurtful or vulgar references.
Let’s start to make small changes, treat others with kindness and acceptance,
as we encounter ridicule as others try to control us and fight our reluctance.
We can treat each other with love and kindness while accepting our diversity,
as we struggle to find our own utopia, we do not want to keep fighting adversity.
