Their Words Live On

Their tender verses come to mind now and then. They bring a smile, or pain the heart deep within. Each fading from our minds, sadly, passed and gone. Poets, Connie's, Milton's, Harry's, words live on. Dedication to three wonderful writers we knew and loved. Long live their Poetry, and Legacy. Their Poetry are kept alive in our hearts and mind. Connie Marcum Wong, Harry Horseman, and Milton Hankings. Will never be forgotten. If you're new to Poetry Soup I recommend you look up these writers, and read their much loved Poetry...

Hi Michael, you were featured today on PS . Did you know ? I nearly met up with Connie in Hawaii, but she took ill so sadly we cancelled. Harry was also a wonderful poet and used to comment on my poems, miss him. I dont think I read any of Milton's work but I will check up on his poems. All amazing poets. A lovely tribute ..Hugs

Maria I did not know. Thank you for letting me know. Yes Connie was such a lovely and decent human being and Harry was a person that I valued his friendship and I wrote a Tribute to him when he passed. Milton was a wonderful writer. He always spoke his mind. We got into a little spat once but we made friends and enjoyed each others work. It makes me sad to know he is gone. He loved his wife and when had passed before him, and he wrote about her in an endearing way. I hope you and Ron are well. I wrote Ron yesterday I hope he received my email. I have what I think two great ideas for a song. I will be sharing with you soon. I thought I have it done by Sunday but I had an emergency with my garage door I had to fix. Say hi to Ron, and big hug from Judy and I...

Thank you John they were very special and if you get a chance please read some of them I promise you wont be disappointed. Connie was an amazing writer she had one of her poems make the 100 best of all time list. Milton wrote and all the forms exceptionally well. Harry was a deep thinker and his Poetry was on a different level. You just have to read and see for yourself. John thanks for stopping by and I hope your New Year is off to a good start my friend. Sending Gods blessings...

Gershon years ago when I was on the Soup I remember Winged Warrior then I left and came back. You are right, Winged Warrior was a wonderful writer. It is terribly sad when we loose great writers. There are a few I left out that Poets are commenting on and sharing with me like you have done. In all fairness all should be mentioned but I leave that to you guys and gals to mention the one's I did not. Thank you Gershon for your feed back and I will definitely go and read some of winged Warriors Poetry. Thank you for the reminder. Hope the New Year is going well for you and yours. Here we've gotten in the last month three or four feet of snow. Busy with the snow blower and getting ready to go out and do mine and a few older neighbors. Blessings my friend...

Michael you are thoughtful!. When and if we dont post daily, like me, due to old age. It is the same as being dead.five readers a day suck. But I have grown new to it by now. And I think it is weird people comment to dead people. I can understand reading their poetry, but I don’t understand commenting into it. After all, if the commandment here is, I don’t read you if you don’t read me and comment then why do we comment to that people? Some of the best are unread Pangie,x

So true Pangie your words. I never thought of that commenting to a passed poets poetry. I guess it makes them feel better to comment knowing other writers will read their comments. Just a guess. Hope you are doing well. I have to come by and read your latest Poetry. Read your Soupmail. Talk to you later. Thank you Pangie for your feedback on my tribute to these missed souls...

Yes. They were wonderful. Connie in particular since I was her friend since 2002 and I read so many beautiful poems she wrote. We lost so many others such as Carolyn Devonshire. I can't even remember the names of all these awesome poets we have lost. Lovely tribute

Sadly new names get added as time goes on but they live on in their poetry, it hits you when going over your old poems and see a comment they left you. Three more come to mind, Carolyn, Rico and Winged Warrior and I'm sure there are many more. I think admin should create a memorial section with all those we have lost named and with links to their poetry. Joyce Johnson, I didn't know Joyce but I'm sure she passed away last year I think. Lovely tribute Michael. Tom

Tom that is a great idea of a memorial. Yes there are many that have left us. I picked the one's I knew best but sadly Rico, Joyce who was well known here on the Soup and she lived to a very old age, Winged Warrior, Carolyn Devonshire, and others that their Poems, words, and legacy are felt by the many that followed them. As always Tom thank you for your much appreciated comments. God bless you my friend so glad to see Jack Ellison back I was worried about him, God is good...PS we also are going without Robert Lingley due to health issues, I miss him a lot, another great contributor and writer...
