The Call of the Waterfall

Layers of limestone set the stunning stage Where waters rumble and tumble Dance and prance Like a woman whose flowing white hair is let loose All aglow with a million diamond studs Of shimmering sunbeams Under a viridescent baldachin, Cascading and serenading, The soft hum of aquatic thrum Showcase a dazzling display, Nature’s way Of revealing soul-stirring artistry, Reminding mortals of God’s Divine Touch. 08.06.2021

Congratulations on your winning placement Jo. Love the way you use onomatopoeia so we can splash around in the water of your beautiful waterfall then stand back in awe of God's handiwork cleansed and renewed. Just lovely - sparkling as a waterfall in the sun! Blessings!

Jo, your dynamic word choice has captured the sights and sounds of "The Call of the Waterfall." "All aglow with a million diamond studs ... Cascading and serenading ~ the soft hum of aquatic thrum ~ Showcase a dazzling display, Nature's way ..." Your last line gives credit where credit is due. Congratulations on your win on Mile 24 of my 2022 Poetry Marathon Contest. Two more miles to run before the Qualifier's Final Placement Contest!

Your metaphoric imagery was a delight to read "Like a woman whose flowing hair is let loose All aglow with the thousand diamond studs'

I really like those last two lines. There are negatively charged ions at waterfalls which help restore our mind, emotion, soul, body and spirit and makes this work come alive. Reads like a good contender to me. Way to go for the contest. Your visits to my page are uplifting. Sara
