Nature's Alibi

Delighted by a rippled sky in layers of a parfait pink I wonder nature’s alibi and how it always makes me think For though I see its wondrous hues through eyes that show me of its grace I know that it is everywhere in every person, thing or place To what amazement, I am bound in trying to respect its rule In realizing that the world is just its subjugated fool Yet nonetheless, its beauty reigns in mountains, rivers, forests green In every flower’s subtle scent in everything I’ve ever seen I wonder nature’s alibi though manifesting so much love It’s also holds the key to hate If only men could rise above

This is 'a cut above,' Mike. A cut way, way above, I should say. Bravo, Gershon

Dear Mike, What a captivating journey through the enchanting realms of nature, evoking a sense of wonder and introspection. Your contemplation of nature's omnipresence, its ability to both inspire awe and instill humility, is both thought-provoking and humbling. May we continue to cherish and protect the wonders of nature, rising above hate to embrace the boundless love it offers. - Blessings, Daniel

Normally I'm not pessimistic, but the way humans are behaving, makes me feel we are plunging ourselves into an abyss. Great thoughts.

Your poem resonated with me, Mike. I share your sentiments. If only we humans could be more like nature...how submlime that would be. I liked the physical structure of your poem as well as the fluidity of your rhyme scheme. "Nature's Alibi" is the perfect title. Well done & enjoy your evening, Sara

We’re guilty of taking nature for granted when it offers us so much. Good reminders.

I absolutely adore the imagery especially "Delighted by a rippled sky in layers of a parfait pink I wonder nature’s alibi and how it always makes me think" what a wonderful world it would be if wars were a thing of the past and we could live in harmony with nature. hugs jan xx
