Hi Valsa, This is a good entry for the contest. I almost chose to write about a lion as well, after reading this I'm glad I didn't. Best wishes in the contest. Have a nice day and weekend:-) Alexis

Those beasts do have the demeanor of a monarch or queen about them. Valsa, with only a few lines, you've created a piece of poetry that is really vivid.

We often visit the Kruger National Park, and until i have spotted the King of the wild, i am restless. His appearance with his bushy mane, his egotistical gait, his roar in the early morn and his piercing green/gold eyes, a masterpiece of nature. and the cubs are too, too awesome for words. Well penned dear Valsa. Have a blessed Easter with your family. Hugs and blessings, Jennifer

They are very powerful cats much like the reigning leaders of the world. They only do what is necessary to live in peace though which some leaders of our countries have not learned. Your visit to my page was encouraging. Sara

The admiration of lions is quite beyond me as lions are lazy buggers who kill their offspring to bring the mother into heat and still expect the female to provide them with fresh meat! Would you really treat an husband who behaved like a lion like royalty? Aloha!

They are majestic creatures, I stroked some in Mauritius once, lucky they were only a few months old. Tom
