Heartfelt Goodbye

The time will come someday, where sadness will arrive. It'll take my breath away, and bring tears to my eyes. This moment in our lives, I wish to never come. A shattering surprise, to know that you are gone. The memories we shared, will live inside of me. There's nothing that compares, your love, I'll miss indeed. Dedicated to my wife Judith. 9/27/2024

John thank you for your wonderful advice. It is one that I will take. Thanks for reading what I wrote, when I read yours I thought of mine and how I would feel If I lost my wife and sadly you had experienced that already. I hope you are coping well and you have much support, like family and good friends. God bless you my friend and thanking you again for the wonderful advice...

I am probably weird, Michael. But I was taught I was born to die, our lives have joys and sorrowss! I read that the day we die is a day to celebrate for we are going to a peacefull home forever..whether we meet past others or will everecognize them is dubious. Heaven is not my life chapter 2, it is to serve God. I have had over 85 years here. And the world is a painful place. Friends leave, people die. Oy! Pangie xx

It must be a blessing when partners go shortly one after the other. If Elias ever goes onto his eternal path I pray that I will soon follow or vice versa as we have spoken about this, for the grief I would feel would be unbearable For either one of us, agonizing. I enjoyed that you wrote this engaging poem Michael, and that I read it. BLESSINGS TO YOU BOTH. Hugs Jennifer.

Very exquisite poem explores the profound sense of loss and grief experienced after the death of a loved one. It reflects on cherished memories and the emotional void left behind. Thanks for your comment on my poem, nice seeing you writing back. I was also away for the last period as well. Take care

Michael, ultimately grief is the common denominator we all feel and understand. It is the price we must pay for love. Cherish the time you have together. God bless, Robert

A former pastor of ours came back to preach the homecoming message a few Sundays back and his wife died during COVID. He told the congregation that God sent him another Christian woman who is so much like is wife who passed on. He seemed to be happy with the situation. Thanks for writing this touching one. Sara K

Yes Joe I do. I wrote this knowing someday either myself or my wife will leave this world. I guess my message is to savor each day with your spouse, and value the days you have together. Never having any regrets that you enjoyed each and every day together. It is nice to see you Joe. I have to catch up and read. Hope you are doing well my friend. Thanks for stopping by.

Lovely to see you again Michael, I’d often thought the same but then my wife would have all the grief so hopefully I’ll go last. No one knows the day or the hour, I hope you are keeping well. Tom

The day will indeed come Michael. We all take our turn eventually. The only question is, who goes first? Ideally mates would pass at the same time, but it rarely happens, so someone is left to grieve. My parents were 7 months apart. Good to see you posting again

Hi Tom. So sorry to hear of the loss of your parents. I was up all night. As I was sitting there with my dog Tavi a Rough Collie. My wife was sleeping and it was so quiet in the house. My thoughts took me to not having my partner, that is how it would be if something were to happen to either of us, the quietness. I was overwhelmed with a sense of emotion and realized that someday either she or I will sadly have to go through this unfortunate event. I felt that I had to share that everyday we have with our love one is precious. Thank you for stopping by. It is interesting the time frame your parents departed from one another. I hear this so much where when one passes over the other does shortly after. The spirit almost give up, with the loss of their Love...
