Carolyn Devonshire - a Tribute
A rare priceless pearl emerged,
from an exotic shell of the deep blue sea;
Her unique sparkle did brighten and illuminate
every soul that held her with love.
Her dauntless spirit knew the warmth
of feeling the soul of the ocean, so close,
and listening to its soft rumble - a lull.
Of rare breed, this precious pearl yearned
to go back to where she came from: and she left,
leaving behind the radiance of her grace.
"A spirit that will never die" -
A Winter's Rose that smiles from above...
In eternity...

Note:
Am glad for having written a tribute to our dear poetess of Soup family - Carolyn Devonshire - who passed away on August 3. Though I am sad I didn't get to know her much, am happy I was able to write this simple humble tribute from the information I got from friends close to her and by reading some of her poems. Our dear poetess Andrea Dietrich's blog in memoriam of Carolyn's poems with links attached to her best poems helped me know the poetess more. Thank you dear Andrea for the inspiring blog. The line within quotes is taken from one of Carolyn's own poems.. "Winter's Rose - My Spirit". My sincere thanks to the sponsor for giving me an opportunity to write this tribute to Carolyn Devonshire.
