A Hummingbird in your Horizon

Listen to poem:
Roaming among a sea of stars,
like a feather adrift in the breeze,
I wandered into kismet's bazaar.
From all the exotic scents and colours,
I became hypnotised by your guise.
Gazing into your reverie eyes,
you blushed like a lilac sunset.
Our souls reflected like bismuth crystals,
as hues shimmered upon forgotten lips.

I desired to decorate your sultry sighs
in a garland of holy petals,
showering you in a fountain of confetti,
creating a trail of opulent pastels.

Yet, all shades fade away,
as so much that is precious
is stolen or lost forever,
so with this porcelain heart,
where in between every beat,
the tip of my tongue calls your name,
I will adore you from a distance -
for I am just a hummingbird
in your horizon.

Simple Musing

This feels so tender. I love the audio too. "showering you in a fountain of confetti, creating a trail of opulent pastels." Very enchanting and vivid, painting a picture of love that is both ethereal and unattainable. The metaphor of being a hummingbird in someone’s horizon beautifully captures the bittersweet nature of distant adoration. It’s a graceful balance of passion and restraint, a poem that lingers in the heart like a cherished melody. Truly amazing, Silent. Loved how you ended it.

I love bismuth crystals. I have one as a necklace and one just to play with. Now I imagine two souls meeting in the 5th dimension and both the glittery colors of the hummingbird. mmmm

The lack of confidence to wish for someone. Feelings of insecurity for the other not reciprocating a desire for you. " For I am just a hummingbird in your horizon." Is the example. I can relate to wanting someone and being so enthralled that you think the individual is unapproachable because in your eyes they are just too good. Your emotions expressed are raw and sincere. Your metaphors are cleverly thought and reflects your message Silent One. Such uniqueness in your writing and expression.

SO, The poem is just really a lot of fun and you express yourself beautifully and with so much passion! I get it completely. I wonder what stops us after seeing a person we might like from taking a moment to have a brief conversation to see what happens. Of course, we can't talk to everyone and sometimes just observing gives pleasure! we get to decide!!! This makes me smile!

' I am just a hummingbird in your horizon. ' A soft moment, yet tender and sad, all at the same time. You can look at it this way, at least you're close, even if you're not as close as wish you could be. Your thoughts are beautiful and emotional. My best to you, Silent One. Hugs, Brandy

You feel that you are just a mere hummingbird in this exotic woman's presence, someone who you desire to shower in a fountain of confettii, but all you can do is adore her from a distance within her horizon. Wonderful description of a love the heart and soul long for and linger after within a sea of stars. Blessings my friend, Jennifer.

So dreamy and whimsical... !.... "in between every beat, the tip of my tongue calls your name, I will adore you from a distance - for I am just a hummingbird in your horizon." Wow....! I feel the intensity of your longing. Your versification is so sweeping that I am carried away to a world where I see a humming bird that darts up and down mesmerizing all with its aerial feats and trying to land on a flower to suck honey from it, but can't.

Dear friend, SO, Outstanding poetry about romantic apathy and that sweet quality of lust. You express strong appreciation for someone with whom you are unable to fully connect, expressing the beauty of their emotions while realizing the anguish of distance and separation. It also explores themes of love, fate (kismet), appreciation, and the fleeting nature of beauty and passion. The artwork conveys a sense of wonder and magic, juxtaposed with the grief of unachievable proximity.
