What to Submit?
Chose one of the above pictures of Rumi's quotes, and use that as a jumping off point about which to write a poem. You can put the quote at the top of your poem. I added one more choice that you can use from the movie, "Fried Green Tomatoes". It can be a jumping off point in a different direction. Please use your own title and put mirror at the end of your title so maybe I won't read your work outside the contest page.
1 original poem on the theme of mirror. I want poems that are deep with a spiritual undertone or all out tone of spirituality.
Any short form is acceptable up to 20 lines. Please no poems with nothing but flowery words((a few scattered out within if it makes sense). Each little catch phrase is cute, but it really doesn't say anything as far as I am concerned. That is my feelings on the subject. Other people might just love it, but I don't.
Please go by PoetrySoup's rules. Please check your work for mistakes. Please make sure that your poem matches up with one of the pictures and quote.
I find that he had quite a large amount to say or write or both and they are quite interesting. I know he was of the Muslim faith and that he only thought that Jesus was a good prophet, but I can tell he read what Jesus had to say.
