Bloody Sundays
A ghoul on a stool made him drool
So the vampire skipped Sunday School
The B-positive queue
Was too long to pursue
At the Blood Bank in Liverpool!...

Pick Up Lines
PICK UP LINES

Liverpool are called Reds,
Run mouths than turn heads;
Put the lofty hearts to their beds.

London will always be Blue,
Pick-up my lines if it pierces through,
I'd love to be duplicated into you.

Hope built on imaginary gains,

A resort of d poor,

We are addicted.

It is summer, pam 3 with 4, or 4 from 4,

In fact my late grandfather gave me

A sure banker! Liverpool vs Southampton,

This Saturday with #5000,

Am sure to b richer than Bill Gate

To b richer faster,

I shall invest heavily on baba ijebu......

What happened to the old ‘Do-wop’
          piano triplets and ‘bop-she-bop’

      Romantic ballads juke-box kissed
disco nights now wrapped in mist

      Brian Wilson’s surfboard gone
          Liverpool mopheads no more spawned...

New heartthrobs soar, then fade away ~
          Beethoven rolled over yesterday

This is a recording titled “Lies”. It is off and running, and aiming for the skies. It has a sound many consider cool. However, it’s not from those boys from Liverpool. This song is as American as apple pie. These boys have a hit with their first try. This group is known as the “Knickerbockers” by name. With this hit, they will achieve fame.

Middlesbrough,
They are very dull
So, the final is sure.
Though trophy unsure
Cos Liverpool will score.5
ChelseaFC might cry sore.
I hope we hit 'em wit a four.

This climax screams encore...
Chelsea, please make us proud,
So as to shine among the crowd.¹°

Premium Member He Needed a Sign
He loved her, but could not propose. He needed a blessing or something.
She wondered how much longer they would date; it had been ten years.
I need a sign, he told his dreams nightly. He needed Grandpa's blessing.
Flock of seagulls divebombed them and their red umbrellas.
He immediately proposed and they ran in the rain, holding hands.
His granddad's favorite band was Flock of Seagulls from Liverpool....

Ta Da
Standing on curb edge looking at tar bubbles
In joints of street cobblestone heated by
Seldom seen Liverpool sun
Sticking twig sticks in to break them
Then lifting the shiny wetness of them
To stick onto the curb edge
The rough blunt edge of granite
Next to the flat smooth flag stones
Where did that word come from?
Holds the twig firmly
For a brief childhood moment
Remembered clearly
Sixty three years later...

I Am a Displaced Scouser
I am a displaced Scouser,
Who comes from Bootle way,
And no matter where I go,
A Scouser will I stay.

I eat my chips on Butties,
Or perhaps upon a barm,
I get by on old Scouse wit,
And on my Liverpool charm.

But I’ve never owned a tracksuit,
It’s simply not my style,
And I’m not a football maniac,
Or have a police file.

So remember that you can’t believe,
All that people say,
About us lowly Scousers,
Who come from Bootle way....

Beneath These Northern Skies
'Write Thirteen Beautiful Lines' Poetry Contest: Sponsored by Constance La France (April/May 2025).

Where hills are alive
with imagination
carried by clouds
toward their destination
Lakeland fells and sheep
Liverpool of cormorants
Wales with its dragons
Yorkshire and terrier dogs
in Lancashire towns
of redbrick and cobbled folk
who worked with bare hands
to build a much better world
beneath these beautiful skies.

Erratically You
Erratically you

It was by chance I came to Portugal.
I was a failure in Norway and a bigger loser in Britain.
I could not absorb a culture that makes the working-class
dumb workers and ignorant soldiers.
It was a day in May when I came here, didn´t want to live
by the coast, which was like living in Liverpool with sunlight.
I bought a ruin/stable got local workers to help me restoring the place.
One day I looked up and said: “I´m home.”...

Turn that radio off. I don’t want to hear anymore. All they play is music from that Liverpool Fab Four. Those four English guys are polluting the airwaves. Somehow, their music is what my girlfriend craves. These bums look strange with that disgusting long hair. They drive the girls batty, but I don’t seem to care. Anyway, let’s get going. It’s starting to get late. If the Phillies win both games today, won't that be great?

The Day I Kicked The World
I kicked the world lay at my feet
the wrong way down a one way street
I kicked and kicked and didn’t stop
until I reached the paper shop
and thought my journey was complete.

Between the headlines of defeat
Liverpool's team was in retreat
hearing the call from Jürgen Klopp
I kicked the world.

My dad leapt up out from his seat
with terrace chants I won’t repeat
reality began to drop
legging towards the mighty Kop
only the goalie left to beat
I kicked the world.

How I wish it was Yesterday
When I would dance the night away
To music that was really cool
From the guys from Liverpool
Ringo, Paul, George and John
Who fascinated everyone
From Europe to the U.S.A.
They had a captivating sway
They played a rocking beat
That made me move my feet
From I Wanna Hold Your Hand
To Sergeant Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band
From Hey Jude with Na Na Na Na
To Desmond and Molly Ob La Di Ob La Da
Yes how I wish it was Yesterday
When I would dance the night away...

I am starting to like Freddie
At least he is steady
He may enjoy the drink
He may bring Liverpool to the brink
Honesty is all you will get
Even if his heart is scorched and bled
He has that iconic ironic smile
His verses crosses the hippocratic oath
From veins his prose flow
His love is pure his demons proudly on display
His bitterness feeds the infinite glass
Of the waiters last call
His words may bite spewing spittle and spite
Alas, who I ask, shall cast the first stone?...

Sweet 21 Water Brown
I spent my 21st birthday
In a squalid old bed and breakfast
On the outskirts of Liverpool

That cost me $10 to light
And 20 a night
With the only bathroom
1 floor down

The toilet water brown
Pungently scented
The bed fermented

Now 21 years on
My 42 birthday hath come
And the only thing that has changed

Is I am further estranged
From what is luck
What be deemed chance

And the all too familiar
Side wise glance
Tut of derision
Privilege based on class

Shatters still my heart of glass...
