Best Forget Poems

Premium Member Forget Our Hearts Visions

Now that only forgotten promises remain,
sounds of solitude are gifts I wish to obtain.
Sentiments are temporary in a world full of change,
affections are wasted in an insincere exchange.

Some say my words are engraved too deep,
others feel expression is only cheap,
so close your mind and enjoy your sleep.
because if you hear me then you'll weep.

Sometimes we have to forget our hearts visions
Life don't come with any terms and conditions
Forgive me if I seem emotionally challenged,
as I hide my feelings when everything seems unbalanced.

My soul's invisible, your ignorance won't see it crying.
Inquest of a grief stricken heart concludes into spirit dying.
Trauma vibrates like an orchestra of lightning horns,
with fate bleeding thistles in a rose garden of thorns.

In the mourning of seeds that blossomed too soon,
breathless, I wrote my name with stardust on the moon,
but now i wander in a meadow full of nettles,
as the ink of life is a burden upon the sepals.
With silent sighs hidden behind a poetic verse,
I ponder if the quill is a blessing or a curse.

Sometimes we have to forget our hearts visions
Life don't come with any terms and conditions
Forgive me if I seem emotionally challenged,
as I hide my feelings when everything seems unbalanced.

You see...
I'm struggling to discover a reason to survive,
so I stand here screaming at the Grim Reaper to arrive.
He mocks and laughs at the patheticness of my pleas,
whilst inner demons offer my soul no apologies.

I can see cosmic imposters in ebony horizons,
misleading like fake guides sparkling like diamonds.
Reminds me of a veiled star that never forgave me,
who betrayed me to decay in the death of my poetry.

Sometimes we have to forget our hearts visions
Life don't come with any terms and conditions
Forgive me if I seem emotionally challenged,
as I hide my feelings when everything seems unbalanced.

Oh regret, why do you look back with such anger?
Sometimes words are the most toxic form of cancer.
Are these just twilight stories before a prelude of sunset,
or unwritten feelings I've learned to suppress, to forget?

Premium Member Forgive and Forget

I asked you what I have done wrong
But there is no response - just a stony silence
No words can convey my guilt, my inner sadness

This will be my last goodbye
My final letter to you my love
Tears flow down my ashen face
Tears of sadness, tears of regret
Drip
Drip
Drip
Drip

Tears fall on the paper as I write
They mingle with the damp blue ink
The inky water leaches into the paper
Its colour starts to bleed and spread
Until it fades into nothingness
I am empty, devoid of emotion
I can say no more

Forgive me for being me
Forgive me for caring
Forgive me for loving you

Goodbye forever

In my arms you can forget your troubles
Close your eyes and leave them all behind
I’ll sway you tenderly to loving rhythms
I’ll comfort you to sweet musical perfumes
And protect you with all the serenity
Of a thousand starry midnights
Under feathery wispy lakeshore willows
That waver in cool late summer breezes
Close your eyes and leave all worries behind

Stars Never Forget Our Dreams

I've dreamt dreams in my life
till you forgotten who I am
the smooth curves of my lips
and roses in my hair.
You've dreamt dreams in your life
till I forgotten who you are
the dimple of your smile
and velvets of your heart.
But stars never forget our dreams
Stars never forgot your wet fingertips
writing proposals on the sand
Nor those kisses treaded softly
as you lifted up my hand.
So if the colour of the night
gets dark and dusty blue
If you ever think of me
If I ever think of you
Just close your eyes
Remember ,there's the splendour of a star
Still shows me where you are
Remember, there's the splendour of a star
Still shows you where I am
It shows eternal Heartbeats
Of a woman and a man.

Because Stars never forget our dreams...

Shells of Alamein Lest We Forget War

Lest we forget

When the Shelling
And the Din of gunfire
Finally stopped

His mind was shot
A hollow broken shell
Stood

Crooked in the corner of some foreign land
Every boy and man befell unto
Inspite of class or rank
Come 1,
Come all
To walk the plank

Into no mans land
Gods hands

As the marching band grew silenced
Drowned out by the violence

Of brethren slain,
Into the Dunes of Alamein

Forget Me Not and the Silver Prince

Forget Me Not and the Silver Prince
They loved to run and play
In the cold of winter time
This chilly snowy day

With mittens in a shade of red
And boots to match the same
They followed footprints in the snow
This was their favorite game

Running to the forest edge
They looked so deep inside
When footprints that they found instead
Had seemed to run and hide

For hours they still played this game
No heed they paid the cold
Forget Me Not began to cry
The Silver Prince so bold

Said, “Why now cry my little friend
In tears that come to freeze
A’ shimmering your bright red cheeks
As we gaze on the trees”

Forget Me Not then answered him
While shivering where she stood
“The trees,” she said. “They are all dead
No leaves do hold their wood”

The Silver Prince began to laugh
As snowflakes sat his eyes
To chuckle at the words she said
As snow fell from the skies

“My tiny friend, oh precious one
These trees are but asleep
If you would listen closely now
Their snores shall quell your weep”

Forget Me Not then listened
For in the forest roared
A gust of wind so chilling cold
Alas the trees had snored

“For it is every winter”
The Silver Prince did speak
“The trees they fall to slumbering
As through the cold they sleep”

She smiled like the sunrise
Beneath her golden hair
For this one fact that he had told
She sure was not aware

Returning to the castle
He took her by the hand
And whispered something in her ear
That she did understand

He told her that he loved her
And if she followed true
He’d teach her all she needs to know
Of everything he knew

From that day forth they wandered
She learned from all he said
But one thing true he whispered
Kept flowing through her head

Her heart was filled with laughter
Her eyes they shone so bright
Each day that they would run and play
Within the warm sunlight

When spring it now descended
New leaves upon the trees
Fresh flowers in the garden grew
A soft inviting breeze

For at this time she noticed
His words were not a lark
For every tree turned green again
Within their favorite park

And on this day she whispered
To him these words so true
The Silver Prince he smiled
She said, I love you too

Lest We Forget

 Somewhere there is a field,
in that field there is a stone.
The men that lie beneath it,
are men that are unknown.
This solemn stone holds words
and those words it holds are few.
But those few words it holds,
are words that hold so true.

THESE BRAVE MEN STOOD UNITED
AND UNITED THEY GAVE ALL.
IN HOPES THEIR KINSMEN WOULD REMEMBER,
IF DIVIDED THEY WILL FALL.

I Will Forget You

You have forgotten the times that were tender
You have hidden the wounds that cut deep;
Sweet dreams of the past fade when the splendor
Dims in the twilight as the sun goes to sleep.
The haze of lost memories hovering over
Will abandon the enchantment that lost its way
And the arms of time will give hours to cover
The raw wounds that darken the day.

You will forget me, the love we once shared
Has vanished in the attempt at disguise;
The dream we once knew can't be repaired
It’s gone with the light that once lit your eyes.
Yearning for times past is beyond wanting
For all we had, and love will soon seem
An empty room with phantoms now haunting
The space in your heart that died with the dream.

I will forget you and forgive you for saying
The callous words that brought such pain;
Time moves on and the lament now playing
Has moved on to a happier strain.
I'm gone from your life, I am gone forever
The times we shared now submerged in the past;
Love buries it dead but sorrow kills never
I have forgotten your memory at last.

If you suddenly forget me
Wherever you are
Close your eyes listen to your heart
Like the wind, you can hear my voice

If you suddenly forget me
Nothing hurts more, but I do not want to cry
Time passes and you feel me in a dream
Always remember the smell of my perfume and my soft lips

If you suddenly forget me
I will never regret loving you
When night comes, and you feel so alone
In peaceful harmony a soft heart sings with angel wings

Winter (Do Not Forget Among the Loss of Flowers) Me

winter
do not forget among the loss of flowers
me
beneath your death of snow

do not forget that bird of sun
the trees gave down there bending branches
to light the grass where love made little flowers

do not forget my love
the lights most fragile gift the sky
bowed low to give a blushing praise
to the joyful dance of star and moon

do not forget the nesting hope of spring
the freed sparrow of your fingers
the silence more deep then words

remember me in the summerless field
the slender moment bereft of rain
before life and you became

Lest We Forget

In churned up soil the poppy rose
On top of death, still steadily grows
And in our minds we see the crosses
That lie in rows and count our losses

Blood that drips from tiniest bloom
Beloved children, lost from the womb
Their essence blown upon the earth
For infinity, will show their worth

And so they marched by decree
A war they fought, so we could be free
The poppy, how we remember them now
So in silence we do reverently bow

One single day, just once every year
To remember all the horror and fear
To give thanks and praise, to those in need
Who saved us through unselfish deed

For so young when they said goodbye
With no idea that so many would die
In Flanders Fields where poppies grow
Innocence, now lays buried in each row

For those that did return safely home
Their spirit lost and so had flown
To fly away among the peaceful skies
With friends and larks with carefree eyes

In the thunder hear the roar of guns
Calling to all our native sons
Arise, arise, from sleep once more
For once again, there will be war

In Flanders Fields, the poppies grow
They cover our loved ones, buried below
Like a blanket, they protect all within
From a world that is ravished by sin

More souls will join them as the years go by
More wars will be fought, as the lark does cry
More fields will be filled, with our dead
And poppies will mark their graves in red

"Lest we forget and more shall die"
"In Flanders Fields our loved ones lie"

Premium Member Cancer - Remembering What You Want To Forget

You crept into our lives
silently stalking
like a cat burglar in the dead of night
invading every aspect of our world

Robotic treatment by the Da Vinci Machine
operated by a skilled surgeon
removed this blight from our lives ...
yet lurking in the back of our minds
your memory remains

Cancer, you violated his body
but in a strange way you were a blessing
by giving us a stark reality check

We appreciate our days on earth are limited
and cherish every second
living each day to the full

Of course we are realistic
one day you may return
but we will do battle with you again
victory will be ours -
and once more you will be a distant memory!

Lest I Forget

The fountain in my office reminds me of you
Your free flowing spirit
The water plays finding it’s own path
The giggling sounds it sings

How many times caught up in work
I’ve stopped
And smiled
And let your spirit warm through me
Lest I forget

I’ll hike again this summer
I’ll go deep into the gorge
And when we stop at wonder rock
I’ll go alone to the stream
In deep remembrance I'll sit
And feel you once again

A jimsonweed I’ll pick for you
And breathe the bouquet deep
And then I’ll place it in the stream
And watch the course you seek

Sometimes I Forget His Name

Sometimes
I forget his name
there are cavities
in love too

dark gaps
in the cracking heart
where aching
doubt and memories
pulsate.
