Where Is Heaven
WHERE IS HEAVEN?
The student: Where is heaven?
The teacher: It is in your feet as they walk the path of life.
Many souls you'll meet. Be strong.
Wear good shoes for the path is long.
It is in your hands as you collect loving hearts
that touch you deeply.
Take off your gloves and handle them gently.
It is in your eyes as you see the love-light in others.
Remember they're your sisters and brothers.
Feel their energy and let them in.
It is in your speech
Speak quietly and be kind.
Remember some people are blind.
The student: I thought heaven was in the skies.
The teacher: Yes, it is.
It is in the beautiful sunset
and glorious sunrise,
the refreshing rain,
the gentle breeze,
the floating clouds,
and the moon and stars.
Look up!
The student: Who is there?
The teacher: The Great Spirit,
the angels,
your ancestors,
and many children.
The student: What does heaven look like?
The teacher: It has snow-capped mountains,
and green grass,
trees with plump peaches,
babbling brooks,
lovely flowers,
and sandy beaches
The student: Are there any animals in heaven?
The teacher: Yes, there are lions and lemurs,
birds and bees,
monkeys and donkeys,
and Koalas in trees
and our old pets who wait to play
again with us someday.
.
The student: Will there be music?
The teacher: Yes, of course.
You'll hear horns announce your arrival
and all the angels singing,
harps and flutes,
violins and drums,
guitars and sitars,
and many more.
They’ll all be playing as you open the door.
The student: Will there be schools?
The teacher: Oh yes, heaven’s not a place for fools.
It has only the very best of schools.
The student: Well, I guess I’m ready.
Should I pack a lunch?
The teacher: No, you’re not ready.
Live your life and love your neighbors.
Touch the lonely and help the homeless.
Work hard and learn all you can.
Pray each day and be grateful.
Someday you’ll be a great woman/man.
