When a Beautiful Morning, Song-Bird Sings

When A Beautiful Morning, Song-Bird Sings When morning songbird warbles lively dirge Soul wakes unable to resist this urge And when alone, these feet begin to tap, Taking me to delight from last night's nap. Tis a truth, a great blessing to have found. Heart joins rhapsody, colors team up As if to fill life's joyous golden cup; A miracle vanquishing worldly pains Such a blessing very hard to explain. Tis a truth, a great blessing to have found. Thus I thank songbird for gifting its glee Arousing sleeping spirit within me Nature's finer blessing given for sure Restoring what world's dark has made impure. Tis a truth, a great blessing to have found. When morning songbird warbles lively dirge Soul wakes unable to resist this urge And when alone, these feet begin to tap, Taking me to delight from last night's nap. Tis a truth, a great blessing to have found. Robert J. Lindley, June19th, 1974 Rhyme ( Wherein Heart Can Finally See Hope And Light )

Thank you, my friend. I was a young man back then. Twenty years old and still a bit too idealistic. But life gave and took-until much of the blindness raced away. God bless.

Thank you my dear friend. When I delve back into my youth with pen in hand. I see far more than when I am idly wandering back because a friend called me and stirred me to recall. The poetic drive kicks in and the verses flow with a much keener insight. Thus, I learn each time that happens. God bless.

Enjoyed reading this one today. I enjoy hearing birds sing in the spring and summer, but it is most quiet now until spring comes again. Thanks for your visit to my page. I appreciate the time spent there. Sara

Thank you my friend. That is one of the negatives of winter methinks. The songbirds are not around to sing- which means they are wise because winter can be brutally cold and devoid of food supplies. Giving the always present reality that although oft beautiful to behold, Nature itself can be quite harsh and extremely brutal in its winter's wrath. God bless..

Thank you my friend. I was then only 20 years old and had gone through a very long and trying time. That morn, that biird singing brought me back from a dark abyss. I walked that day back into the light, determined to vanquish that which had sent me far astray and thus my recovery began. God bless..
