Visions of Another Kind
As our ship leaves
the harbor
for
parts
unknown
our eyes search the skies for
a sign
Visions of the past
give way to visions of another kind
Don't you realize what has happened?
The old verities
are
now
glowing embers
in a room full of surprises
Like a "jack in the box" happiness
suddenly springs forth
where sadness used to hole sway
The great masters of reality
will have their say!
Isn't it time you watched the earth revolve?
As it spins our hopes grow
and are on the verge of being fuflilled
Visions of another kind
will take us
to new, unimagined
heights, leave us breathless
on the shore
as wave after wave
strikes the sand
leaving their imprint
on our shores
