This Year
This year will be different from those of the past,
For I've changed the way I think, and I'm moving on.
With all the changing, some friendships didn't last,
But those I have now are better than the ones that are gone;
And the future is as bright as the brightest star to wish upon.
I've decided to quit hanging around with my mouth closed;
I'll be more engaging, meet people that I never knew.
Maybe I'll do some things to which I have previously been opposed;
And I have a hunch I'll go to a country I've never been, and do
Some things I've never done. I'm sure it will all be new.
Isn't that all exciting! You can see I'm turning over a new leaf
I'm getting a new job too; great guys and opportunities will be there.
I could keep going on, but for the moment I will be brief;
Perhaps next year I will have another chance to share,
And I'll have lots of stories from my life of lesser care.
