The Dance

Looking back On the memory of The dance we shared 'Neath the stars above For a moment All the world was right But how could I have known That you'd ever say goodbye And now I'm glad I didn't know The way it all would end The way it all would go Our lives are better left to chance I could have missed the pain But I'd have had to miss the dance Holding you I held everything For a moment Wasn't I the king? If I'd only known How the king would fall Hey, who's to say You know I might have changed it all And now I'm glad I didn't know The way it all would end The way it all would go Our lives are better left to chance I could have missed the pain But I'd have had to miss the dance It's my life, it's better left to chance I could have missed the pain But I'd have had to miss the (dance)

Oh for the days when I used to dance under the stars. I saw your poem on YouTube and left an encouraging comment. We have to learn to accept the good and the bad. Lost love is always a favorite. Hugs.

Hello my friend, this is a poignant reflection on the fleeting nature of happiness and the acceptance of life's uncertainties. The imagery of dancing "beneath the stars above" evokes a sense of magic and euphoria, portraying a moment of perfect bliss. However, the poem quickly transitions into a contemplation of the inevitable goodbye, emphasizing the speaker's realization that they could not have foreseen the pain of parting.

wow! Your words graciously reflected your belief that good eventually comes from pain. Pain teaches us and prepares us. I love your wise perspective and your gentle words. Wishing you a splendid evening, hugs, Sara
