Sunflower

Last year,we bought a sunflower, a cheery little fellow it had such a deep brown heart, and petals, sunny yellow, It makes me smile to think of it, because we didn't know, that if you feed and water them, well, they begin to grow! now, I don't mean a little bit, please, let me tell you why, the last time that we measured, it was twenty two feet high!! alas, it could not take the strain, and, with a sudden frost, on a cold September morning, It's fighting spirit lost, Both I and my granddaughter wept all that September, for poor old "sunny sunflower" a valued family member!
