When it first was shown in the US (in 1913 at the NY Armory Show) one critic described it as an explosion in a shingles factory. / M

Snow easily turns itself into a monster, Jan. We had 2 feet dumped on us a few days ago and tomorrow we expect another foot! However, I do understand the beauty of your description. Marcel Duchamp's most famous painting can be called up on the Internet or Google. It's one of my very favorite iconic images of the 20th century. Thanks for the stop. / M
