Red Roses
Love's beauty dwells in a long stemmed red Rose
Amidst other buds not yet in full bloom.
I admire them most when in sweet repose
As twilight intercedes and shadows loom.
Grief mingled with fragrance perfumes night air
Where within his garden red roses bloom.
Their loveliness in moonlight I will share.
Tonight, I feel his spirit in our room.
His gifts of roses not that long ago
Spoke of his love, yet uttered not a word.
The joy their beauty gave me let me know
How he professed his love, and my heart heard.
