Kim, people don’t know alcohol is a drug, worse a depressant. It makes the world a dark hole. On okder folks especially hard on the liver. Sorry about your Mother. I went into therapy I was so depressed. My Mother would never want me crying over her, but I did. Will say a prayer for your Dad and your family. Panagiota

Slightly different style than some of your other poems but you challenged yourself and were up to the task. Real poem for a real world. As I g et older I realize more and more how fortunate I am to be able to keep perspective and not let what if and grief swallow me up. I often think being sick very sick as a baby makes one better able to cope later on in life. Keep challenging yourself and I will keep reading your poems. Regards David in NZ. Hope you enjoy Easter break.

Thank you, David! I really appreciate that! Ilike your perspective on childhood illness. I didn’t live around other family members, didn’t go to too many funerals, so losing Mom was an experience. Happy Easter!

Wow so profound. I gather mom passed on and he was left broken. A sad one but great free verse

Almost two years now. I listened to her voice today on an old voice mail. (Haven’t done that for awhile).

He is careful how much he drinks. My parents carried around their portable bar. They were cute.
