Month Ten ushers in a lustrous mystique
Where the blooming of hues unfold at last
As October lacquers tall elms quite sleek
An autumn’s radiant view unsurpassed
By other cycles, their tints paling fast.
But could I ignore the dance of a leaf
Cascading with violas brushed in gold--
Lovers tasting the quiet of relief
A contentment lit amidst north-winds cold…
How fall disarms, its essence I behold!
