Looking For the Light

America do you hear our cries.
There is so much to deal with here.
It grieves me to open up my eyes,
and see and live my life in fear.

There was a time when I recall.
When there was so much hope in us.
No mandates, freedom for all.
Most important, In God We Trust.

There was a good life for all of us.
The future look so bright.
Now it's dark and not much trust.
Sadly, no light in sight.

This is something not stictictly unique to America. This is a global phenomenon. The change from old ways to the new with no adherence to morality and no faith in God has made life fearsome and dark for everyone. Selfish motives and greed have overrun all other concerns ! Let us hope light will shine soon ! Cling on to hope, Michael !

Where there is life there is hope, and where there is hope there is faith my friend. I enjoyed your poem and I do know that many who have lost loved ones will identify with your words. I visualize that light becoming brighter and brighter until it overtakes the darkness. Blessings xxoo

I feel the same as you do in this poem, Michael. I am glad to see that you wrote an actual poem. Keep that up! I like all your writings but you mostly do essay or narrative approach, and I love this other side of you!! Thanks for all the many kind comments you left for me. I admire your consistent ability to try new forms of poetry, to judge poems, to do so well in competitions, to achieve what you have achieved. I just write for fun, and to inform. I will pray something goes good in 2021. Yes the media lies and have an agenda of scarring us into getting vaccinated and causing massive depression in the world. Hi Tom yes my friend we long for yesteryear. No wearing mask, no distancing, no chaotic national news every night, children going to school, ball games, and not being afraid to breath without any mask wearing. God is in control and he is our only hope. I trust in him Tom not the politicians, or the expert traitor Doctors, and controlled agenda news media. Hope is in all our hearts.
