Ice Wrapped

I dream a pure winter wonderland dream, where I wear a shimmering wedding dress; and I am enclosed with glimmer and gleam. I remember that day- when I said yes, and my ruby cold lips you did caress; your love, my heart you will ever possess. Yet, in my dream I am alone in white, lost in a frozen wilderness of ice; I breathe deeply the pristine landscape bright. My love is drenched in tears- that is the price, this heart is ice-kissed in a bitter vice; oh, your arms around me sure would be nice. Crisp the magical snow in quiet haze, I am searching for you my sweet lover; in dreams, I wander snow trails in a daze. Did you take refuge in snow for cover, in this ice world for me to discover? Then, I find you love- and there I hover. I hover among the tombs white capped, but, only in one is my love ice wrapped. ________________________ November 26, 2018 Poetry/Sonnet/Urban/Ice Wrapped Copyright Protected, ID 18- 1089-056-01 All Rights Reserved. Congratulations Constance! Your poem has placed "Second" in my PoetrySoup contest. Due to the exacting syllable counts and perfect rhyme requirements of this form, this contest was very tough to judge, well done my friend, Emile.

This is one sonnet that I have never tried my hand at, Constance, but on reading yours I am very much tempted to tackle. A poem dressed in white, like the beautiful bride who unfortunately now mourns the loss of her loved one. Yet her love, despite the icy cold, will live on. ~ Regards // paul

Oh, Hon, this is so hauntingly beautiful. Your descriptions of the scenery and bitter temperatures are wonderful, but I am most impressed with the love that lingers in your heart. After all these years, it's still hard to think of him in that tomb. You know I can relate. A fave for me, Dear Heart. Very, Very lovely!

A winter wonderland indeed. The beauty of your words is like the first glimpse in the morning after an evening snowfall, enchanting and glistening. Your poem is mesmerizing and should have no problem finding the top spot in the contest.
