Feelings From the Seventh Sister
River ever flowing
‘fore Gillette’s “Seventh Sister”
nature's beauty thrives
scenic view sparks thoughts
stone castle amid the trees
represents my life
A cool winter day
exhaling yesteryear's dreams
future seems unclear
Note: William Gillette's estate, called Seventh Sister, was built in 1914.
Connecticut's government took over the property in 1943 and it was
added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.
