Enosis

South Africa is burning, And my soul is churning, I feel for the poor, Who sleep on the floor, The hopeless the hungry, In this country, We are a rainbow nation Should encourage cognition Let us all come together, And think of forever We have a future, And the sooner We work towards equality And chase away inequality We will become the envy Of this wide world, I Jenny Wish from the depths of my heart In the beginning .. a fresh start! FROM MY GREEK HERITAGE I KNOW THE WORD "ENOSIS" IS INTERPRETED TO MEAN THE UNION OF OR, THE JOINING OF.

Powerful lines, sometimes I wonder where we really are headed; sometimes it seems we are regressing as a society. Well done.

I really like this. it seems burning could be interpreted as literally as well as figuratively. Is that the case? Here in my state is worse drought they have had in ages. The world is going cuckoo!!! I pray for your nation and your continent

Your sensitive heart cannot bear to see sadness of others, you are so very much like me. Previously I used to get very upset, now I understand from my knowledge of scriptures that sinners suffer. Still I get upset. Wonderful write and message. Wish your thoughts come true. Thanks for brightening my Potd with your wonderful comments and for your fave.

Jenny, you have once again used your poetic acumen and keen eye to stir the soul. You have such a positivity vibe that your sadness does not devolve into despair, but rather a call for starting over and reaching out to others to help where help is needed and to make our world a more unified place. I can't imagine someone reading this and being unmoved. Blessings and hugs to you, and thank you for your very kind comments recently. God bless ~ John

Thank-you Ani, the poor are everywhere on our Planet, poverty is on the rise because unemployment is on the rise and humanity has become overwhelmed by the ugly effects of covid on our society, how many families have become povertstricken when they lose their breadwinner, the stark reality of this pandemic has left us reeling - when is enough? hugs and blessings. Jennifer.

The criminality and looting that is happening is heart rending and unacceptable - things are tense and volatile, whilst covid is on the rampage. Thank-you Gordon for your very kind comment. hugs and blessings, Jennifer.

you are so right and each one of deserves respect from each other - it was very scary last night seeing the unrest all over our country, criminality is not the way forward but nor is poverty and access to resources, and basic humanitarian needs. blessings, Jennifer

Thanks for adding the meaning. We too have a rainbow country. In fact my family is multi cultural. My wife and son are Chinese and our daughter inlaw is of East Indian background. Myself I am French and German.

Oh how wonderful, I love to hear comments like this and think that children born from a multi cultural background have such an advantage in their start in life! I am part English my father was from Yorkshire, England and part Greek (plus), my husband is Cypriot, my mother Greek/Italian with a Turkish upbringing, so we too fall in the same multi cultural background. hugs and blessings, Jennifer.
