A Salute To Spring
High up in treetops
the rich song of an Oriole echoes
and dances 'cross rooftops
Twirling birds on tippy toes
give salute to spring in pose
Asters in boxes
burst in full bloom upon window sills
While daisies share with foxes
giving hearts and keen eyes a thrill
to these beauties without frills
Purple Passion grace
Lush green fields where wild Milkweed grow-
a butterfly’s flavored taste
Its sweet nectar gently flows
igniting spring as love glows
