Image + perception are everything. A programmer rough around the edges can make a good dime. Such a grand limerick. Be well. Brian

Thanks Brian. The world can be very funny at times. You are most kind. I hope you feel good about your own work. I believe you have a great talent.

Aysha, it's always a show, no question about that. I was recently (within the year) in Ireland, and noticed they do not use cell phones at restaurants or at cafes. It was nice to see people relating to each other on a personal level. We've been transformed a lot lately.

Made me sad but read the comments below and some comments made me smile, i think i may be one of the naive ones to fall for these things and offer help, not realizing what lies beneath all that and the truth that maybe more deeper and darker than one can actually imagine! I hope your easter celebrations went well, and what a profound limerick this is! Deep and soul hitting! Pleasure alwYs reading your work: keep sharing your thoughts that are like eye openers

IE, it was based on a joke, and I am sorry for any sadness. I can see that it could have that effect. I have given things to people and it may not have always been the best thing--as a result, I try to be more careful. BTW, there are scammers out there who would like nothing more than your bank account number and access code. In any case, good charity is a wonderful thing. I'm thinking about the aid workers whose lives were just taken. Brutality, dishonesty, and fighting should all end. Be well!!!

Sidewalk capitalism at it's best. Fun limerick, and clever; though I'll stick to the drive-thru.

That's probably smart David. We are even more exposed to the public if we leave our vehicles. I'd like to think the world is safe...a lot of bad stuff has been exaggerated for the sake of mood, but you have wonderful sense of humor.

Arthur, that is wonderful. We're only here to share and bring a little joy into our lives. Thanks!

And now I've entered the techy circle. This is a fabulous limerick.

Hilda, glad you liked this one. I also use poetry others have written to experience things I might normally miss out on. You have a great wit.

Dear Duke, You explore the paradox of a programmer's success despite their untidy look, drawing attention to the fact that they exploit innocent Starbucks consumers for financial gain. Words like "Drooled java" that show the coder completely absorbed in their code give the piece a lighthearted and whimsical tone. The addition of "net earnings" is a subtle nod to the programmer's job, while the use of "fooled patrons" and "Dinero" adds to the casual tone.

Dear SP, I am so glad you appreciate the little word plays sometimes used. As I read more of your work, I am becoming more and more impressed by the word choices and images that take time to digest (at least for me at my level). I think I have just enough verbal skill so that I can appreciate you. I love the fact that we comment on each other's work. Hope you are having a wonderful day!!!

Tom, with this level of treachery, he probably also has a Lamborghini. But we'll never know. When my son went to college during his freshman year, he attended a school co-located with the Daytona Beach airport. So, he didn't have a car...just a small private plane. But he kept it really quiet. Later, he decided a car would be more useful and I took the plane until we sold it a few years later. (Unlike now, I was financially better off). We used to fly to a lot of different get away sites. That was a different life.

That was easy money for him. He must be smart to fool so many. Much enjoyed the humor you convey, Duke.

Vijay, you are so right! We never know just how smart someone is. It takes time to appreciate all the talents each of us has.

Yup…you never know. Some discretion is advised. Don’t be fooled that you are a compassionate soul when instead your giving dues to the devil.

Kim, my goodness yes, there are all sorts of scams perpetrated by certain people. We all should be cautious with any charity, but generous as well when we know we're doing something constructive.
