You

You lined the clouds with silver,
You pushed away the rain.

You lifted some of my burdens
and shared with me my pain .

You gave me your most precious treasures,
A value no man can adjust.

Freely given without measure,
your loyalty ,patience ,and trust.

You eased my fears with confidence
and held sacred all my flaws,

Diminishing their apparent affect
through eyes of a higher cause.

You taught me how to appreciate
all that one can be,

Encouraged me through the eyes of love
to invest in a possibility.

Now I can line the clouds with silver and push away the rain again,

For through you I have seen that the greatest gift
is the gift of being a friend.

A Pair of Boots

There was a day, a specific day,
When a pair of boots stopped walkin.
Leaving no average prints on the way,
That an average man could walk in.

Each step he trod was a step of faith,
All knew who walked beside him,
None were better or less than another
For friendship was this man’s fulcrum.

These boots had walked not an easy path
The hide battered from heel to toe,
By the rocks and briars of his past,
His battle, not letting it show.

Always found at other’s need
With a solution or a suggestion,
Sacrifice was his way of life
About that, there is no question.

To many, these boots all weathered and worn
Have no value at all to be told,
But the wise all know the boots strength is it’s soul
And Terry’s boots should be gold.
And Terry’s boots should be gold.

There was a day, a specific day
When a pair of boots stopped walkin,
They continue to lead me down a path of life
I daily strive to walk in.

Thanks Dad

Continuum

Hope my friend is found within
 and faces tomorrow
Grasping promises given.

Faith you see is hope evidenced today
through how I'm actin' and livin',

And Love is seen in yesterday,
where faith and hope bloomed true,
And through that demonstration of love
Hope is born anew.

Faith

"Faith is the evidence of things hoped for..."

As I spring out of bed to start my day,
Not knowing for sure what may come my way,
He never moves.

Wrangling choices,
Do this or do that?
Heeding the One who's been where I'm at.
The One who never moves.

A maze of things that this life brings may toss me left or right,
But my soul sings
As my spirit rings with the truth of His delight.
Cause He's been there
And He never moves.

Now the day is done
and I for one by grace have nothing to prove.
For through every twist and turn I've run,
He's there and He never moved.

Animated Freedom

Beach time freedom-
lovers frolic gleefully
on the sandy shore.

Tire Swing

Just a tire on a rope,
hangin from a limb in the yard,
No big thing.
But this sight is special
for those who learn life lessons
from a tire swing.

You can do it, just hang on,
Your turn now to ride upon,
the tire swing.
I will push ,but not to high,
Your not ready to reach for the sky
on the tire swing.

Sit in the tire or ride on top,
Drag your feet when you want to stop
this tire swing.
Spinning around or swinging out,
Making choices is what life is about
on the tire swing.
Dreaming and hoping
as you glide to and fro,
There is so much more for you to know,
all alone on this tire swing.

Just a tire on a rope,
hangin from a limb in the yard ,
No big thing.
But this sight is special
for those who learned life lessons
from the tire swing.

What If

What if we proclaimed our love each day?
What if our actions always pointed that way?
What if our marriage could transform our life?
What if we loved being husband and wife?

What if our hearts were knit as one?
What if we shared life, whatever may come?
What if we both trusted each with our life?
What if we loved being husband and wife?

What if grace and forgiveness reined our home?
What if time together trumped time spent alone?
What if our differences were adventures in life?
What if we loved being husband and wife?

What if I prayed for you ,my sister my bride?
What if I encouraged you whatever the tide?
What if I heeded your wisdom and insight?
What if I loved being husband and wife?

What if you saw me as your brother, your love?
What if you drew your strength from above?
What if you trusted God's plan in my life?
What if you loved being husband and wife?

What if we vow that we are one?
What if we devote our life to the Son?
What if we correct our view about life?
Now that we love being husband and wife.

Sweet Wife

Leaving his sweet wife to morn
And his daughter ,yet to be born.
Mom and Dad, so forlorn,
Brother ,broken ,confused and torn.

Not my man, a father to be,
We have plans for our family.
Why our son? Our oldest one,
So much of life ahead to run

Oh my brother ,my best friend.
Taken from me ,leaving those questions.

Believing the reason he is gone
Is so young couples can carry on.
And have a family that will thrive,
And grampa and grandma can be satisfied.

He stood tall and answered the call,
This soldier who died
He died for us all.

Deep In Man

Deep in man’s heart there are pages
Reserved for only one quill,
Bound by the desire of the ages
For the Author of Life to fill.

The first lines in this fleshy novel
Reflect bitter sadness and despair,
For a lost soul’s hopeless grovel
Has found life is empty and bare.

Part two writes of a witness
Someone, somewhere who knew
That only the King of Righteousness
Could give meaning and purpose to you.

Now another chapter we see begins
For you weighed the truth of Gods Word,
Repented of worldliness and sin
As rejoicing in heaven was heard!

Deep in man’s heart there are pages
Reserved for only one quill,
Bound by the desire of the ages
For the Author of Life to fill.

The great Author knows your story,
It has been stored right next to His heart,
As you yield each page to His glory
A Life chapter anew shall start.
