Sweet Wife
Leaving his sweet wife to morn
And his daughter ,yet to be born.
Mom and Dad, so forlorn,
Brother ,broken ,confused and torn.
Not my man, a father to be,
We have plans for our family.
Why our son? Our oldest one,
So much of life ahead to run
Oh my brother ,my best friend.
Taken from me ,leaving those questions.
Believing the reason he is gone
Is so young couples can carry on.
And have a family that will thrive,
And grampa and grandma can be satisfied.
He stood tall and answered the call,
This soldier who died
He died for us all.
