Contest Description
What to Submit?
The Ghazal is a sophisticated poetic form characterized by the use of rhyming couplets, each containing a refrain. Typically consisting of 5 to 15 couplets, this form showcases a recurring theme, such as love, death, or spring,... which is deliberately left open to interpretation. Each couplet in a Ghazal functions as a self-contained poem and possesses the same meter and syllable count, ranging from 6 to 24. The rhyming pattern in a Ghazal follows the structure of aA bA cA dA eA, and exhibits a high level of poetic craftsmanship.
