The Color White
I see
white people
in the donut shop.
I see
white cars
at the restaurant.
I see
white shirt
on the black chest.
I see
white clouds
in the October blue sky....

If we believe life is a circle
where the end of one journey
is the beginning of the next

Premium Member Loneliness Is a Stale Donut
Loneliness is a stale donut
Forgotten and left in box
For how many days now?
How many days!
Takes as self-pity
Eating the donut it tastes like pain
And sickness rising in my throat
For I remain and the box I throw out...

Coming Too Soon
COMING TOO SOON
by H.B.Ussach

Popping up like pre-fab stucco-concrete-aluminum posies,
Poking up on parking lots as donut shops and quick lubes,
They are plain, utilitarian, proletarian low-low-price bunkers
On a retail war-weary land....

Oy Void
this is absurd
to discuss
something
that isn't

so you have
or should i
say have
not

a loop
a black
a donut
but don't

you think
if i ate every
thing that that
would include

even the
emptiness
of all so that
would mean i

ate
the
whole
thing...

Baker Man
She was longing for her creamy donut
To linger long on her tongue,
She squeezed the sides and to her surprise
It squirted all over her bum.

The big Bermondsey baker man
Shook like an oversized oaf
At silly situations of tasty temptations
As he always liked having a loaf....

Darling Dolly liked to dawdle
down past Dooley’s Deli.
Darling Dolly didn’t dabble
in Dooley’s Devil’s Delight.
Devil’s Delight, a donut dessert,
didn’t do it for Dolly.
Darling Dolly didn’t delight
in Dooley’s donut dessert.
So Darling Dolly dawdled home
without Dooley’s Devil’s Delight.

Pinocchio Nose
Someone in a donut hole
Can’t hear a noisy tale

Pinocchio Nose is growing gradually
Above the clouds in the sky

The tip of his nose reached freezing space
Or violent heat evaporates all at once

Darkness is too dark
Brightness is too bright

No one can see anything there
Anyone can be blinded forever...

Premium Member Fresh Donuts and Coffee
The sun is up and a new day is ahead.
I don’t want to get up. I want to stay in bed.
I don’t work today. I have nowhere to go.
To the world, I wish to be a no-show.
However, there’s that smell so sweet.
It comes from the donut shop across the street.
Everything there smells so heavenly.
I start my morning with
FRESH DONUTS AND COFFEE....

My Way of Life
My way of life...
Is just down the block
Around the corner
Across the street
Through the park
Across the bridge
Down the sidewalk
Through the tunnel
Across the road
Past the donut shop
Into the red door
Down the hall
Up the stairs
Two doors down
Into the doorway
Past the bed
By the window
On the desk
Under the book
Is a pen and paper
My way of life......

Premium Member What Can Be More Hopeful
Newborns are born daily, still magical, enthralling us
With their kittenish mewing sound
snuggling into our fat shoulders

Pies, cakes, and pastries are made
by bakers at four a.m.
Humming as they work,
anticipating the happy excitement
of people who want a fresh donut at six.

Two-year-olds are laughing full out,
Seven-year-olds are asking for their own unicorns.
What can be more hopeful than that?...

Premium Member Orhams Old Fashioned Donut Shop
The Cinnamon Bazooka Bun is an ardent dough
a pound of sticky heat that dissolves
the tongue in an orgasm of butter.

There is an uncertain pantless fervor here
in the parked Impala, a craven pursuit of the
spiral core, winding mounds of sacchariferous frit

A cop drives by--and we shrink in our non-chalance
our frosted, reunion-phased glaze betrays no chance
that something untoward is not happening here....
