     My sister has a long blue dress,
     Mother made mine too,
     And told us not to make a mess!

     Keep our hands neatly folded,
     Don't prance or scamper about,
     Neither of us wanted to be scolded!

     Then Santa and MS. Claus came.
     On a sparkling winter boat.
     It was too much for us! No joke!

     First our knees began to jump,
     Then our feet started to pump,
     Both of us landed in a lump!

     Tumbling, rolling down hill,
     It was too late!
     We couldn't stay still!

     Over and over, we ran up the hill,
     Dropped to our knees,
     And tumbled down still!

     Now our blue dresses are muddy and green,
     I think our mother is going to scream!

DANCE and PRANCE Nursery Rhyme

     Wearing shiny coat of red terylene
     Cat sat on brick wall playing violin.
    Pretty perfect tune, typical feline.
    Music rhythmic on high pitch, super fine.

   Hog - pair with no hair from Port Blair to dance.
   Cock and hen from their den join and prance.
   Little puppy looks happy casts slant glance,
   getting ready and practicing balance.

    Lifting leg now charcoal cow stepping smart!
   Drowsy bird keen to listen with eyes shut.
    Crescent descent maroon Moon is alert.
    Kids are always welcome to take part.

Enhance Your Dance, Oh Prance

He dances so well in those flares.
Such a gliding, sliding motion.
Round and round - planetary.
Prance, and prance, prance, prance.

Is he a dummy, a puppet?
Yet singularly, exceptionally charming.
Do we believe he exists? He does continue to
prance, oh prance, prance, prance.

Such a springy way to dance - so elastic -
enhancing that appearance.
Such a stunning, gorgeous
prance, gee, prance, prance, prance.

Is he mad? Or are we so?
Oh, such a one-man energetic bustle,
spirited, bubbly - such an indefatigable
prance, that prance, prance, prance.

Premium Member Charlatans and Chameleons Prance and Dance

Charlatans and chameleons prancing in a country western dancing line
If Charlatans had stayed in place, all would have been quite fine
Charls are used to being devious, so they did underhanded things
Chameleons acted miffed and mad as the Charls began their swings.

Willie Nelson was singing in that crazy, wonderful offbeat way of his.
Charls were spreading rumors that were silly and caused a lot of fizz.
The chameleons were all angry now, and a riot started up in the bar.
No charlatans or chameleons are going to become a Broadway star.

Why I Often Go There

I often go there
And not elsewhere,
Because of a winsome musician
And a handsome magician:
The Former crazy about Breathless Prance
The latter in love with Suicidal Lance
Each in shows able to skills enhance …

I understand it all started in France!

Also go there I for A Splendid Asian
Seeking a grand chance
To beat The Smartest Russian
In a Caribbean Dance
While a capacity crowd glance …

Powerful two reasons to be often there
And in other circles rare.

Smarty-Pants, Show-Off Prance Quack - Nursery Rhyme

Smarty-Pants, Show-Off Prance quack
a brain I do not lack

I'm a know-it-all
but I do recall

Smarty-Pants, Show-Off Prance snatch
that I had met my match

when a contest judged
that a word was smudged

Smarty-Pants, Show-Off Prance crossed
I know that I had lost

I went home to pack
and did not look back

Smarty-Pants, Show-Off Prance quack

This fairy-tale means, If you are the smartest
in the room, it's because you're in the wrong room.

Premium Member Contemporary Prance - Bawdy Warning

My friends took me down to Broadway
To watch a newfangled ballet
T'was called the Buttcracker
And not the Nutcracker
The title was apt I can say

Some dancers were dressed in tutus
Bulges in their tights gave us clues
All the dancers were male
My friends face turned quite pale
Next time we should read the reviews!

Premium Member Words Prance Off the Shelf

Words prance off shelves
and hit me in the head
Trying to land in my mouth

Little do they know my mouth cannot use them
My mouth is afraid
of the wrath of others

But my fingers can use them
Will type them up quickly
and make them a poem

Still they try for my mouth
Trying to make it “man” up
but it clamps itself shut more tightly than ever

Fearful of the wrath of others
Try for my hands I want to scream at them
as words prance off shelves, landing on my shoulders

The Dancing...

Say that you dance.
Lest it not be said,
The art is ever dead.
Or even the merest of a chance,
Of nearing extinction.

It is all life's essence,
To move, be, think and dream.
To express a universal scheme,
That speaks through nature's lessons.
Not in man's religion.

A boundless form of communication.
So intricate,
Yet so ruled by emotion.
So elaborate,
And so full of devotion.
Needing no words of translation.
At one with God and all of creation.
A legacy of the beginning explosion.
To live in blissful celebration.

Saint Vidas is the lord of the dance.
If in need, seek out his blessing.
You might as well give him a chance,
And dance out your confessing.

So why should we dance?
The answer is simple and clear.
To join the dance is why we are here.
So dance, indeed dance.

Premium Member Words Prance Out of My Brain At 3 Am

I see words prancing out of my brain at three a.m.
I try to get them to stop, but they laugh in a maniacal way,
Choosing to wake me up,
Sometimes keeping me tired all day
While I walk through my job
In a zombie-like state
Hoping the boss will not notice.
Luckily, she has a new baby. I am the least of her worries.

At four o'clock I begin to panic. I have promised myself
to write ten poems a day, and I have written none.
Not a poem.
Not a phrase.
Not a saying.
Not a sentence.
Not a word.
Not a letter.
I stare at a blank page, seeing an insurmountable task.
Seeing my own failure.
That is what I see

For about six seconds,
Then Trixie, my muse grabs a pen and begins
To write.

I watch, amazed, as she fills up page after page,
without any help from me.
Later I can read about half of it.

Horse Would Advance and Prance

Horse Would Advance and Prance

Horse adventurously through woods did advance;
Was in handsome posture  when it would prance;
In big crowd,
Stood proud;
Apparently appeared to have put me into a trance.

Jim Horn

English Prance

A wear down-

singular slalom in the emotional vortex-

the realism of a realm that doesn't adhere to your biology and doesn't accept the facts at hand,

one does not alter it,

unless screaming for more sanity to arrive-

though we are not sane beings at core,
we had to dig until we all died.

A wear-down,

just something I had to add,

...a little bit of sweat, blood and tears,
alimony,
grapes-

food art and a bridge,

nothing from the start,

no calamity or even Go-kart,

though it's fun to part,

sanctify some of the little divide,

deepening volumes that outlast our lives,

showing the sun we don't come to die.

Premium Member Stoked In

Stoked in low;
stoked in high;
Try to reach up;
to that sky.

Your placement here;
Has just been in passing;
It's over now;
Life's not that harassing.

Don't look down;
Too late, don't frown;
Come with me;
We'll have the new town.

Never again;
Shall I turn away;
Never again;
Shall I  stray!

I'm leaving now;
I'll see you soon;
Come, let's hurry;
It's almost noon!

Give it a chance;
Give it a stance;
Look at you;
You're in France?

Let me tend;
Let me bend;
It all comes down to this;
My gallant friend!

Show me now;
Show me then;
It is how life goes;
It is The End.

Premium Member Prance Around With Flair

You guys will all probably think I'm crazy
Feel like tripping through fields of daisies
Prance around with flair
With a couple in my hair
It's all gone downhill since I reached my eighties
