LEAP YEAR
It only comes every four years
even though frogs can leap any time
this for some is a inconvenience
especially when the pear trees are dormant
But it’s welcome every time it comes
regardless of drum playing bums who
never even try to hum favorite tunes
out where writes in runic wearing wet tunics
Leap Year is supposed to be unusual
because it’s more rare than grilled snakes
this for a true survivalist might actually be
steaks grilled over a rake
Doors of hope open, walls are falling
A new beginning, a new calling
The transition is over, you are in a new field
A new leap year is granted
In this new firing range
New targets may seem strange
But fear not, you'll hit every one
For every challenge will be shot down
Don't ponder and panic, be still and know
Let your doubts and fears go
Still your emotions and thoughts
For you will not be suddenly caught
Know with your every fiber
You are meant to be a hero, a victor
In perfect timing, you have arrived
Despite your struggles, you have thrived
Unlock what needs to be
Let it pour onto your lap, for you are free
As sure as light shifts into darkness
You will shine, you will have access!
february ends
frisky squirrels living fast
amidst the first blooms
Leap Year's "poll" vault
Olympic primary trials
Push-over leaps by party default
others limp away with denials.
Sis boom bah; blah, blah, blah,
"poll'-itics and the media.
a riddle in verse
What is the number of years
Israel roamed the wilderness
if we divide it by ten?
What is the number of ears
on a frog duo warbling so loudly
your head is starting to spin?
What is the number of gears
on an average-size semitruck
minus half of a dozen?
What is the number of beers
found in a guzzler’s six pack
if two of them are missin’?
Riddled number whether in Rome or right here
tells us how often we celebrate Leap Year.
The Gregorian calendar makes it quite clear.
Pope Gregory XIII made ten days disappear.

Juliet Ligon's contest: What's in a Number?
LEAP YEAR
Jumping a day in February on every fourth year
three hundred sixty-six days appear
in a leap year, no error, clean clear,
welcoming Olympic.

Year Twenty-twenty holds a prize-
which February soon supplies!
The twenty-ninth, an extra day-
gals may propose to men- hooray!

For Contest, Great Leap Forward
Sponsored by Beth Evans
It is like that of a leaping rabbit who hop on all four,
Twenty-twenty, would then leap an added four more,
Leap at each fourth year, a day February would score,
As for a century leaps at every four hundred years.

How can you mend a Broken Heart ?
How much time and heartbreak hurt will it take ?
To Love Again ?
And is Love worth it ?
Or is it Just ?
4 Season's on any given
Leap Year Sunday
Before Blue Bank Holiday Monday
With nobody to snuggle up
Or spend with
Leap year babes party every fourth year
When their birthday arrives they can cheer
But on a positive note
It would surely get MY vote
Getting old is something they won’t fear!
15th September 2016
It's another new uncommon day
A day that comes just once in every four yrs
I'm happy I'm alive to see today
God I'm most grateful
Facebook won't be able to bring up this memory until the next for years
I won't be able to check the memory from this fone then, cos I'd av changed it
More grey hairs, new look,
Wife and children hopefully
More friends, some betrayals
Plenty success and achievements
Better fones, better life
Older ( but younger in mind and wiser
Wishing my brother success in his exam
I love my mother, love my father
Love my brothers , love my family
My special love to Oloye Adeyinka Olufunmi. Waiting for your man.
My apologies to Tosin Oloye, forgive me.
I love and respect my BBL alwaz and ever
I love myself, love my life
Love and respect my friends
God bless NOSDRA zones and HQ
Love my colleagues, God bless u all
Till 2020, LOVE YOU ALL
January slips into the past
As shorter month takes stage to play her part.
Blithely unaware of pain she brings,
Ignoring once again my frozen heart.
He had been looking forward to the spring,
Welcoming its coming with delight.
Jealous of his eagerness for March,
February took him with her in her flight.
I count the days that pass and fear the rest,
Doing my best to speed them on their way.
Furious with me for wishing her demise,
This year she's taunting me with one more day..

An unusual Bus of 366 tires
one of its twelve compartments
is one more than normal
Boss, being as this is leap year
and Feb 29th is an extra day
do I have to work tomorrow?
tomorrow being an EXTRA day
He says, take your appeal
to the big man upstairs
he invented 365 days
and these pesty leap years
With all due respect, I reply
I thought it was the Greek culture
Not the the big man upstairs
that invented "time" as we know it
(I didn't REALLY say that, I just thought it)
BUT, I say, it's an EXTRA day
kinda like SATURDAY?
do you expect me to work
SATURDAY?
So he says, look at it this way
most months are 30 or 31 days long
so really, you are working a short month
only 29 days long
I have to admit
this crap makes sense
so I give up my appeal
concerned that I might
if I don't keep quiet
end up owing money in the deal
