Main to Main
And also to and for the being of any other
So wishing and choosing to engage
I would very much just like to say
Thanking you sincerely indeed
For being my constant muse
And inspiration
As it has been a while
You have stood stoically by my side
And if yours being the only praise
I am deemed to be due
Then that also just suits me well
As merely knowing you can to me
Relate and find some or other actual
Meaning or promise therefore in
Then I have somehow managed to achieve
Something of real true meaning in my life
And in doing so
You have intern made
All of my innermost
Precious wishes and dreams come true
Kind regards
Yours sincerely

No one will say it
In exactly the same way
No one actually
Ever really did
Explain it
Either
Did they
They never do
When they are trying
To sell you something
Otherwise you probably might
Just not have choose to buy it
In the first place then
Would you
Come to think of it
Then everything falls to pieces
Once you factor in and throw we
Human beings into the mix

By things I see sometimes today
I’m dumbfounded and blown away.
I’ve seen folks driving far
all alone in a car.
Covid masks they still wear anyway.
I could see once a girl IN the pool.
Did a double take because that fool
kept the mask on her face
(though she swam with such grace),
yet there wasn’t a Covid mask rule!!
Once I watched from inside hubbie’s truck
a cute couple that jogged. What the fruck!?
Out in nature they wore
covid masks. Furthermore,
by themselves were they! I’m still dumbstruck.

I am dumbstruck by the advent of invention
Not jut in science and technology but also in art and writing
For now I create and share poetry without even knowing
Poetry my first love
Art and craft my next
We are now in an era where time is flying
Good to know we have advanced so much
That malice and greed is no longer that much
Nations are helping
People are learning
Civilizations are changing
People are doing
It’s a good era to be born in
People are awakened to their own potential as human beings
I seldom remember times when we had no computer
Those were times when food and shelter were for go getters
Those fights are not anymore if you do it right
Enjoying the birth of invention
Is a privilege for very many
Let’s not waste them frivolously
I mowed my lawn in my red Jimmy Choos
Now there’s dog poop on my new shoes
My lazy neighbor's got an untrained pup
It poops on MY lawn - they don’t clean it up!
The lawn’s dotted with piles of dog muck
I’m gobsmacked in fact I’m dumbstruck
So I’ve ordered them a pooper scooper
I hope they’ll use it on their pesky pooper
Fiction poem - but dog mess is a pet hate of mine!

Ever notice some looking at a cell phone,
while they are walking along- they just keep on talking;
or they are just looking and detached- and all else is unknown,
I watch them from my balcony getting off the bus and walking.
Now, the winding pathway into my building is quite dangerous,
it has many bumps and uneven surfaces, dips and cracks;
a guy on his cell was walking this path treacherous,
DUMBSTRUCK- he falls still looking at the cell phone as he smacks !

It's fun having fun with English,
Children are smart, sometimes we're not;
Enjoy this, call it what you wish,
One of the wittiest I got,
"How many kidneys do we have?"
The teacher asked the bright young boy,
"Four", replied he, (what a brainwave!)
The teacher laughed, he did enjoy,
The boy explained, "WE have got four,
Two of mine and two of yours, Sir",
Dumbstruck, the teacher laughed no more,
This boy, when grown, caused quite a stir!
He became a great humourist*,
The school, I'm sure, was his first stage,
He knew how to give a fun twist
To the witty English language.

when she made hot coffee in the morning,
winked at me said your breakfast is warming,
I was dumbstruck and knew there was a flaw,
This was not from wife but mother in law!
When he lit my cigar, paid for dinner,
said how good I was and such a winner,
I was dumbstruck and knew there was a flaw,
This was not my brother - father in law!
when that night dear wife cuddled up to me,
head on my chest and rubbed my tummy,
I was dumbstruck when the truth hit me raw,
can her parents please stay six months extra?

Gossamer winged gondolier airships
sail on feathered wax-clad wingtips
travelling blue transparent skies
probing boundaries transfixed on a prize
dashing darting greeting parting
flirting flurried partners charting
amplify dumbstruck daydreams with flair
animation takes wing to air
tails fly and tales spin
spotlights quarantine chagrin
vibrations brandish a two-edged sword
horizons are vistas explored
steel eyes of flint and mahogany
mirror no clouded cacophony
daydream disciples design
the silk purse
from rubble the blind decline

A few days back I visited an old time friend
To travel down the memory lane on a week end
As we spent the quality time over high tea
The evening passed us by on a lively spree
While leaving I inquired about their daughter, Suhash
Her mother said she was busy with paint and brush
Being interested in painting I wanted to see
How much accomplished in this art she might be
I saw the young girl sitting upright a bit tense
Arranged in front were paint tubes in VIBGYOR sequence
The brush in her hand made strokes rather unsurely
I thought because she was in a room lit very poorly
Her mother said to her daughter destiny hadn’t been kind
In her world darkness didn’t matter for she was blind
In color she dreamt her dreams she would paint
Until in darkness they dissolved and became faint
Looking at the girl and her painting I was dumbstruck
Felt sorry life had proffered a young girl such a bad luck.

I’m dumbstruck by the good luck
Of a woodchuck on a spree
The harmony of living well
And laughing heartily
But still, I often wonder
In a jungle canopy
If nature is the nurture
Of the forest or a tree
When lightning bolts and thunder
Break asunder by and by
They scare the ones down under
By the wonder in the sky
But they are not a vain glow
By the time I hear a sigh
For tears become a rainbow
When I hear a lullaby
I’m dumbstruck by the numb chuck
With a big truck full of wood
The hacker in a whacker
With a backer in the hood
For love is true devotion
By the notion that we should
The logic of emotion
By the healing hand of good.

Oh, the pain of getting a thumb struck
Is not overshadowed by feeling dumbstruck
When a car door is slammed on a finger
There is no logical reason to linger
Taking a pain pill as soon as possible
In this case is perfectly permissible
Soaking in ice is always helpful, too
But I don’t know what else to do!

Dumbstruck Is Me (a rhyming, acrostic kind of thing)
Discombobulated, how apt the word
Utterly gobsmacked by the absurd
Mind numbingly mortified at the nonsensical
By waking to find I’m without either testicle
Silenced as side by side they’re strung together
To hang on the wall there forever... and ever
Running around with another man’s wife
Until I returned to a well concealed knife
Could not comprehend the Snip! Cut! and Sever!
Knock me down with a feather
I’m finding my voice is now three octaves higher
She says that it’s my fault for poking the fire
Mandy, it’s not fair that I lie here dumbstruck
Even though I was a self serving dumbf...

Her first date out was going to be groovy, lots of fun and go to a movie. Her girlfriend and date did go, they were off to enjoy the night with a glow. Half way through the movie show, his wandering hand went up her shirt real slow. He became dumbstruck to find no calling card, a very tight girdle was standing guard.

Billy Dean was a famous man
A country singer – I was a fan
It happened that I met him
He was all handsome and trim
When he embraced my waist
All fear of him was slowly erased
But when he smiled down at me
Dumbstruck, I would quickly flee
