April Fool’s Day
There’s still time to find jokes from think tanks
If family offers you a gift say no thanks
Not on April first
Family is the worst
Unless you’re not the brunt of all their pranks
Cinco De Mayo
Come join the fun on Cinco De Mayo
Latinos grab a bat and don’t be shy good fellow
Hang the Donald piñatas
We’ll serve up the Chiladas
Batter up, swing it hard, and aim down low
A cat on April Fools’, sleek and cool,
Found itself in a rather wet duel.
With a splash and a splosh,
In a fishbowl, it did wash,
Proving even a feline can be a fool!
It's April the 1st today
A day of jokes, laughter and pranks on each other.
It's April the 1st today
A day to act like fools
It's April the 1st today
A to pretend to be clowns
Happy April Fools Day to you!!!
Today’s a time for breaking rules
And telling jokes and playing pranks,
Since it’s the day of April Fools;
For warning you, I need no thanks.
Just be aware of what you hear
Or what you see or even read.
On April Fools’ the atmosphere
May swirl around with smiles we need.
The weather even seems confused –
First rain, then sun and later, storms,
With Mother Nature quite amused
As coats are shed from wind that warms.
Right now I’m soaking up the sun;
My calendar is newly flipped.
For what takes place ‘til day is done,
I think I’m fairly well-equipped.
Today's April Fools
And your pants are on fire.
Front page Tabloid news
Prying minds do Enquire.
April is the month for fools,
At least today, the first,
When pranks are played and joking rules
As logic is reversed.
It’s been around for many years,
Observed both here and there,
With hoaxes ending not in tears
But laughter meant to share.
To get in spirit, pull a gag
To fool your kith or kin.
Shake off those doldrums - time to snag
That silliness within.
HAPPY APRIL FOOLS DAY TYPE IN THE COMMENTS THE LAST EMOJI YOU USED??
At the beginning of April,
We hear two things:
Joking around,
And hopping into spring
The "April Fools" concept,
It's a bit of a mess...
Everyone trying to
Exhibit some "finesse".
I've indeed been pranked,
At least once today.
But I don't think it's funny,
In the same type of way.
The second foolish aspect
It that "May flowers" will come.
But I live in Michigan,
So that's a little dumb.
So, in the end
I really don't understand.
Why April even exists
I say it be banned...
April a'int no fool, she's been to school
knows showers should bring May flowers
but in the Ukraine, where missiles reign
all the flowers are going for wreaths.
There you are my April Fool
You're meant to be as me
When you can say you're only truth
is that you're left to be
When only you can say you're proof
of what was meant to be
When only you can say the truth
is that you're taught by we
April Fools Day remember that
Back in the olden days before I took naps
A young whipper-snapper
Full of vim and vigor
Played tricks on old people and all that crap
made U look, April Fool
By James Edward Lee Sr 2020
2020 April one
As a child I could not wait
Plotting and planning my classmate’s fate
Figuring out all the tricks I would play
All squelched by the teacher
Before the end of the day
We would whisper at recess
Giggling like combatant loons
Sharing all kind of crazy ideas,
The kind that howl at the moons.
April fool’s Day, oh, yes, we wanted to be fooled.
We plotted and planned it, and then we were schooled.
The teachers never bought in to our happy trickster glee.
Bringing us swiftly back to classroom reality.
April fool’s Day was still funny that night at the table.
When our dad tried to trick us with stories of Mable
We would laugh so hard we would fall out of our seat.
Making Mom’s food even more fun to eat.
April fool’s Day, oh, yes, let’s have more of them please.
I would like it again, in the fall, with the leaves.
I could do April fool’s day six times a year.
I do simply love it in case that is not clear.
How cold the sun of April
first day playing games
of spring return to winter chills.
Blow ye wild, racing winds
slip thru the stilled and silent trees
hovering between the naked forms
and promised new growth of life.
Hear the cry and howl of the hollow
echoing goodbyes and hellos
waiting for March gusts to die away.
Sing loud and bold old birds of prior years
pretty, pretty, pretty tweetings
of April's spring into May days
as showers fall hard and icy cold.
Young, newly paired wrens and sparrows
begin the staked out housings
gather nesting materials for soon to be laid eggs.
Croci, daffodil, forsythia burst forth
in shaded emerald green starts
soaking in the sunlight warm
ready to glow in bright and brilliant hues.
Others soon to peek thru the earthened ground
breaking grit and graveled clay dirt
in sprigs tendered in their greenery.
Yet comes April in its unpredictability, yellowed sun
teasing life to come forth and be reborn
then sear it chilled within its grip
amidst bluing cloudless skies.
These are the days of every life
enticing and cautionary
hesitating and holding back
all the April fools.
