Wooing Lakshmi

Wooing her, as the ways of love Show: just let her on her own move, Attract her nor pursue, If she comes gives no clue, And chased, she seldom comes to coo. Patient, awaiting turn, Keep churning on and on, And she smiles far off from above. _____________________ Reflections |23.12.2024| money Poet’s note: Lakshhmi is Hindu goddess of money and wealth. Mythology says she emerged from the Great Churning of ocean (samudra manthanam) by gods and demons. She was one of the fourteen jewels that arose from this effort. Ocean, her father, gave her in marriage to Vishnu.
