When Silence Speaks

When silence speaks there is no human word or mouthing from an uncontented tongue. Yet voiceless cries from hungry eyes are heard, to those awaiting caring for someone. The silent sound will echo from the heart throughout a world now deafened to its kind, by poetry and other forms of art, expressions spoken, words just cannot find. When ugly talks, decorum gets intact, sharing a touch that dissipates the tears, and slays ill words that can’t be taken back, bringing a quiet mystery to life’s fears. As silence speaks upon the still, closed eyes, a final, wordless state, rests gently on all lives. 5/7/2024

This is an excellent sonnet, Janis. You've structured it perfectly for Craig's contest...not an easy task. Well done.

Nice offering Janis, I assume for a contest? My fave line is the third one. Powerful yet terribly sad
