WHEN I AM OLD
When I’m old, I see myself greatly blest
As God makes me enjoy His constant grace
Propelling my pace to finish life’s race
And maximize best years with joyful zest.
When I’m old, there am I … still reaching-out
Sharing the Saviour’s love with peaceful glow
Along prayerful spirit that smites woe
Gratefully praise-filled against doubt and pout.
When I’m old*, freed from demands of work pain
My faith trusts the Lord with triumph-delight
Offering accomplishments by His might
Midst liberty to wait for heaven’s gain.
*Psalms 71:18 Now also when I am old and greyheaded, O God, forsake me not; until I have shewed thy strength unto this generation, and thy power to every one that is to come.
