When a Barren Tree Speaks
A lofty barren tree
deliberately reminisces
its sweet old memories,
whoops out of glee
"Maple shaped and light green
were my leaves, pristine and clean;
Preferred by plenty of butterflies
to laying symmetrical eggs
And the tangled bushy twigs
nesting places for birds small and big
Oh ho! The juvenile birds sang,
perching on contorted branches, they swung
Buzzing and pleasant odored
were my Colorful flowers;
That enthralled lovely bees and flies;
A visual treat to the eyes
And the sugar sweet berries
were more sweeter than cherries;
Savoured by hundreds of bats and birds
Oh! The bliss, I couldn't express through words!!!
Those were the good old days
Now no branches to sway
I feel barren and exhausted
None to embrace, everything is lost..."
Lamented a barren tree...
Suddenly a flock of birds
Occupies the twigs arid
Some sing, a few dances
And some do romance
These birds embrace the tree
And make her embrace glee again!!!
Now that's a great lesson the birds hum
"Don't forget where you came from"
