Dear Susan poetess plus, I truly am late to the party as I'm ashamed to admit I haven't kept up on poems of the week here. This is a superb piece with such amazing alliteration, "a floating flock of feminine flamingos" is so wonderfully graphic. A hearty congratulations on this POTW and a fav 4 m3.

Hi Susan! Once again I'm late for the party :( Congratulations for Poem Of The Week and contest podium finish. After reading this beauty more than once I am still unable to shower it with all the praise it deserves. Of course, imagery, alliteration, vocabulary and creativity take center stage. [definitely a fav] Alas, those types of movies will never return, but at least we have the benefit of re-watching the 'greats' of old! ~ Warm regards & hugs my friend // paul

"unworldly woolgatherers gather spinning fantasy fluff into quixotic yarns of debutantes dancing with honeymoon hunger- dewy eyes blurred by the sawdust of stardust"......Only a few can excel or be on par with you in your poetic exuberance. Your description of the sky and the changes therein and the romance staged are all so wonderful. I have no words in my vocabulary to appreciate the beauty of this alliterative verse.Your poem and the image are equally exquisite !Your use of colors is simply brilliant ! There are a plethora of heavenly images unfolding . Sweet Susan, Hearty Congratulations on Poem of the Week.

Oh my gosh, Susan! I am so very glad your Monroe epic was chosen as POTW. Otherwise, I would have missed it. Congratulations on weaving so much wonderful reminiscing of old movies and those who desperately sought to star in them. I had to laugh at hair brain Janes (I assume you mean Mansfield). There was such pageantry in productions of "Venus-like vesper vixens" dancing beautifully choreographed numbers. Even around swimming pools (Esther Williams). Silver Screen starlets. Not any more.
