The Crime We All Commit

The fish swim in a clear, spring lake.
The bait is murder, poverty, war and insincerity.
Here come the neswspeople, your serenity to take.
Thus, we, the fish eat the bait and think that all the
world is pure insincerity?

News-ghouls, are our new gods that we so adore.
But it’s a cash cow for the press, don’t you see?
Negativity is our weakness, our sily love de jour.!
But it’s a cash cow for the press, TV, and we pass
it on to friends, do you see?
These omens of evil crawl over social media, fake
news channels, and more.

The solution is quiite simple, from them get a divorce!
Fill each daty, with love, smiles and tons of laughter
Play music, dance, and of your own life becone the source.
Laughter so loud, it literally rings from the cedar rafters!!

Many people make themselves victim and feed on their own misery. Media feeds the lonely, tired, sick, and weak - but who feeds them? A cache 22, I'd say, or a programming error: Cannot resolve circular reference. LOL Nice my dear Pangie! :)

Howdy Stranger wonderful to see you! This is a brilliant comment. Who feeds the news? The New World Order and money from Gerorge Soros who funds marches that are violent. Law and order is gone! .70,000 americans died from Fentayl last year. Davos! An insane Asylum.l downtown stores in San Francisco are closed with a lot of control. Well we put that last guy on the White House. And both we got what we.. I’m not saying you.. plenty here take the America. As if we were because of all the worlds evil.. literally better look to the east and see the tongue of country there that are put in America in mortal jeopardy Pangie xx Thank you.

True journalism is dead. It is like listening to robots. The feel good stories are so rare which is a shame. Go out and enjoy life!

Hello Pangie. Good Morning. I turned to this page at random after seeing your title so I had to turn the page. You have stated a mouthful of awareness and thoughts that make us look at society as a whole and at ourselves as well. That is always a plus. I very much enjoyed and liked how you left us in light with your ending quatrain/stanza. That was a lovely touch. Have a wonderful morning and day. Peace and Blessings now and always. (smile)

My goodness Lisa, are you an angel or what? I appreciate your complete comments, and that it makes me understand myself, and where I fall short, and what I need to do to be a better poet.. you are simply a shining human being and not afraid to show it. Thank you for doing that and reading me.. Loovd hugs Pangie xx

This is a fine poem that spells out the traps, but you help us see this in the end. News ghouls-is the word of the day! Tell-lie-vision is a strong ghoul(from smiling happy good looking news people). A good poem to plant a seed of hope.

Hey David! My daughter, Elena is 90 per cent sharper than I. She pointed out how the news talks about a story as “breaking”, when it really is old news. What? Are we Pavlovs dogs that salivate at the OMINOUS word “breaking news”? Social media carries fallacies, too? There are boatloadsof lies and billions believe it! Oh, yes! Facebook, etc! Add Conspiracy theories on line. They hook many. One must be vigilant, check many sources. We do not. Classical literature must be read. Real classical pietry is not hard either. There are finer things in life than the news. Blech! thank you. Huggs, Pangie xx

Very astute, observation, Victor. I am glad you thought it was a wonderful poem. As you can see, most people didn’t. [[ That’s OK I am sure I will live,)) thank you my sweet ..for reading it… and not thinking it was a joke ! .. huggs, Pangie

So sensitively penned, Pangie. You're quite correct about negativity in general, not only the news, but in people's relating to each other. In my little family here, we laugh every day about different subjects, we try to find humor midst the bleakness life can bring. One can get bombarded with news of crime, war, and overall sadness here in the U.S. and in other countries.
