The Closing of 2011
While the door was closing on two thousand eleven
I was soundly asleep for I went to bed at seven
Dreaming of a beach where I was basking in the sun
Sipping margaritas and having lots of fun
Sleep as I get older has become quite a task
Without enough dark circles leave a raccoon mask
Staying up past midnight I now leave to the young
Call me a party pooper and I’ll just stick out my tongue
May two thousand twelve bring beginnings that are new
It’s late and past my bed time so I bid you “adieu!”
