She returns my gaze when I'm too restless to sleep a lustrous pearl mounted, deep set in a sapphire sky I lie awake in my room, papered in spider spun silk Slumber is allusive to us tonight; the moon and I I wonder what thoughts she holds in her heart Surely not man's doctrine of trivial pragmatism Not by the one who rules the tide's ebb and flow Her mellow glow is a healing ointment of chrism

I cannot resist poems about the moon when they are this masterful Lin! Luna soothes and sympathizes in the lonely night shedding her luminous light, feelings I share. This poem is awe inspiring Lin and it is going into my faves! xxoo

Your comment was balm to me today, Connie. Thank you for the many compliments you've given my poetry...moon related or not. Mahalo, dear friend.

Oh, I love this. So mystical to me. I wish I had a window seat like your picture - I would use those restless nights to look at the moon. A favorite.

These’s something magical about gazing at the moon and it can have a very calming affect on our spirit. Another very lovely poem, Lin, enjoyed reading it.

Not sure exactly what it is but the moon seems to have mystical powers. I've caught myself lost in it's gaze many a night. I love your poem, Lin. I hope you have a Happy Mother's Day, Lin:)
