Soul Speak

Soul Speak 8-28-24 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Soul Speak In a conversation with darkness, Haunted By whispered ghostly remnants of hope, Exaggerated I only sees Ego In a cherval glass broken When grace seeps through cracks of pride In blinding rays, The unstoppable I Am Roiling With the tongue of the whirlwind. In the vanishing point of truth, My soul Cowers, Infertile as shards of a mirror Mute as cracked reflections, Then bows To the beauty of no other, Christened in testament, The heartbeat of gospel grace, Relentless As incoming tides. Diving into waves of mercy My soul tastes the sweet confection Of the Word, Eternal ambrosia – everlasting manna – Sing-speaking elocutions Of I Am.

Salutations, Paige! It seems to me that as God responds to the conversation it is often with a response s o like a whirlwind - a God-speak! So grateful for your beautiful words of response. Blessings to you! PS - do you live in CA. I notice your reference to rushing winds like the Santa Anas!!

Dear Daniel, thank you! I am encouraged by your ever thought-full feedback. Having spent a whole lot of time thinking about this theme and how to express the language and experiences of the soul, suddenly the words came out of darkness into the experience of grace - how to describe the testimony of the soul by letting something deep in the soul speak for itself. Thank you, dear friend, for your continued blessings and encouragement!

Samszy, What a soulful write this is, your wordplay here is brilliant and how youv used metaphors is truly impressive! I especially love the lines “ Roiling With the tongue of the whirlwind.” thats deep when hope remains as a remnant and when in conversation with darkness! So profound! And powerful! “ Diving into waves of mercy My soul tastes the sweet confection“ the transformative nature of your poem truly stood out for me and how youv written such a touching poem that flows in sincere eloquence! Pleasure reading always your work: sending you light always. And i appreciate also your thoughtful and sincere support always

Dearest Inky! It is with deep appreciation and gratitude that I thank you for your response to this poem. As I started writing, I wondered what the "soul" would speak - its language, vocabulary, emotions, its words and to whom it would speak. Funny, the poem seemed to come from a hidden place in my soul - undiscovered and unexplored, I found I was able to tap into a new well plus the inspiration I gain from your amazing work! You truly are a sister poet like several I have found here in the soup! Thank you, dear friend! Sweet blessings to you! Samzy~

Hi Jan, thank you so much for your insights and feedback! Wasn't sure what I wanted my soul to say and so I let it speak and this is what it said. Not sure where this came from! I would love to see your soul speak with your special brand of humor. It would be so much fun after all humor is a very special form of depth! Sending you hugs and blessings!!
