Silent

I wonder if the athletes Miss the roaring of the crowds, Or if they like the stadium As silent as the clouds. Today I’m watching tennis And, despite the greatest shot, Instead of gasps and cheering All they hear is diddly-squat. Though they must be glad they’re playing (And I’m thrilled it’s on T.V.) There is surely something missing That is obvious to me. For without the fans’ reactions To surprises in the game It’s still worth the time for watching But it’s simply not the same.

Great! Love all’s they hear is diddly-squat. We get to see a world with no sound.

I miss the sounds too, ilene, but also the way the baseball fans would tussle over a home run or foul ball then show the world their trophy. Like you, I'm thankful there is something to watch. I'm certain the athletes miss the fan noise immensely!

Now it's pure sport, instead of mostly entertainment. Perhaps that's not all bad... Just sayin,' Gershon

My late wife never missed Wimbledon which I found to be as exciting as Cricket. But there will always be those who play for the crowd and those, like Trump, who can't play without them! Loved your second verse! Aloha! Rico

I agree the roar of the crowd must spur them on but at least sports are being played albeit behind closed doors:-) hugs Jan xx
