Sharp Words Leave Invisible Scars

Sharp words leave invisible scars, and pain, They pierce like sword and harm the soul. Such painful words keep echoing the ears, With no scope left for the heart to console. Like arrows sharp words hurt deep inside, Though their wounds are not visible to eyes. Time may heal them but scars stay forever, Watch your words before it is late to realize. Love and bonding gets created over years, But sharp words split relationship so quick. Like a mirror broken into thousand pieces, So don't throw your sharp words as a brick. July 28, 2016. Well done, Meenakshi! A good read. Clarity seems to be one of your virtues. I do appreciate it. By the way, between you and me, '...a thousand pieces...' would be more idiomatic: a thousand, a hundred, etc.

I found your work well written and on point with a message. The idiom is creative and fit the theme of the poem very well. The contest was highly competitive which left out about 10 poems which were worthy of placement – including this one. Thanks for entering the contest and I will check out some more of your creative work!
