See You At the Movies

In Memory of my close, good friend, Roger Ebert, international movie critic from Chicago, whose wisdom and warmth…. left us far too soon! Some made me howl, some put me in tears. Some so adventurous..I was in total fear. These are ones, I have seen more than once. Truly, making me as pleased as punch. And where are the Danny Kaye movies?! lol. Inspector General is a 'must-see.' And what about Peter Sellers? Is he Chopped Liver?! Oh, I'm such a bother, am I not?! I feel like Winnie-the-Pooh on steroids. Keep Smiling, Pangie. :) gw

Gershon, my deceased husband looked like Danny Kay and was humorous and entertaining. I made that list primarily for people decades younger than myself. There are many not named here. I thought the responses were unique. Movies began way before they were born.not only that, my friend, there are tons of International Classics. I thought this list would be more relatable than WHAT I HAVE IN MY KITCHEN DRAWER. I was really wrong. I doubt much st here know what the history of “ The Odessa Steps Sequence “ is. I hoped at least one person could relate to ONE movie. Not so. I may have been a friend Of Roger Ebert, but have no claim to be equal in knowledge. Though, I did study “ Film As An Art Form” in San Francisco! To sum it up, no more List forms from me. Love you, Winnie the Pooh on steroids, you! Panagiota Kaye -)) xxx

It's amazing...maybe one day you should add the total time you have spent watching movies...To have a complete A to Z, I also recommend Zero Dark Thirty... It's a great movie. I think you like me are not a fan of X men or triple X ... Haha

Some poets make list of what’s in their closet. I tried to make this have some pizazz. Many have seen these movies, as well. None will ever see what’s in my closet. Tee-hee.

Great sense of humor, Pashang! There are 40 years of movies not listed. I was only listing those that I watch now. The list posted is varied. I have Direct TV at home so get to see those movies I prefer. Theaters are way expensive in California. Have a terrific evening, Panagiota xxx

These are wonderful movies. The movie industry is so lazy these days and don't make these quality movies anymore. I so enjoyed this piece.

Elena…Covid fears did a big hit on the movie industry! And am afraid the powers that be will do it all over again. Check out Newsom! All he needs is a Nazi uniform and a dark mustache..and “THAT”…wants to be the next president? Prefer R2 D2 be the next one! ( referring to Star Wars movie robot).. movies today are about guns, death, lots of sex, drugs and violence. Oy, vey! Panagiota xxx

i am pretty sure I saw these all. Then multiply the number of these movies times a thousand, and maybe that still would not cover all the titles of movies I have seen. I really envy that you knew Ebert personally. I adored his show and always wished to be a movie critic myself.

Well, Andrea, be a movie critic. You have seen so many. This is only a short list. Many are missing…all the childrens movies I saw…,awesome. You and Roger would have hit it off in a big way. He never thought of himself as a god or something special. But..he indeed was! I loved arguing with him over a movie. LOL. I did not always agree. But over being a movie critic, one of the kindest souls, I ever met. He liked others ahead of himself. One of the blessings of my life is meeting humble people who give much to this world. I do mean much. We all give of ourselves. Rogers love of people was gargantuan. Panagiota xxx

Hi Panagiota, a wonderful tribute from your golden pen. I look down your list and I find that I have only seen 36 of these films. To have happy memories means everything. To do so much and still be humble, that is indeed wonderful. An excellent write, my friend. Have a wonderful Saturday. Hugs always ..... Mike. XX

I have 40 years if unlisted movies, too! Movies were great! So this list is missing many. In my early twenties, I saw many foreign films. I recall the Virgin Spring! What a powerful movie. It’s really great to see these over and over again. I am so glad you took time to write, Mike…I cannot believe it’s August almost! Thank you… Panagiota xxx

Hello Paula! I renewed and then took a day off….how odd.)) so am late in responding, I started seeing movies as a little girl very often. I forgot most of them. These are ones I really like.and cover various genres. Some are fun, some philosophical, some violent, some about live, some hysterical.some made me cry. I am visually oriented, and prefer Maine a over books. History of the world wards I like in movie form. Schindlers List, about the slaughter of the Jews at the hands of Hitler, Mussolini and Stalin are moving. Maniacs leading countries promote control on all levels. There are some running countries today. China has no business threatening the USA. And we have nobody in power to tell them to knock it off? For me, it’s terrifying. I pray the USA stays free. Thanks Paula Panagiota xxx

A happy Sunday to you Tom! I took a course in San Francisco the history of movies.. it was really fascinating. There are many more I could ask you this list that I just love and watch over and over. Roger like you, was a dear friend and an inspiration in my life. ))) I was a extra in a movie once. Much fun to see how it’s done.i should write a poem on that, I think. We shall see! Anyone who has the opportunity to be in one should try it. A very memorable experience! Panagiota xxx

I saw a documentary on Roger Ebert, because I really enjoyed his movie reviews! Roger was an American film critic, film historian, journalist, screenwriter, and author. Have a nice day

He’s gone but movie reviews are still going on under his name..Panagiota xxx good to this day are his reviews. You know much about him! I wrote along poem about him.will try and send you the tittle and date.thank you.
