I have one in mind, although it is somewhat sad. Unfortunately, it is under review for publication elsewhere, so I can't post it here. If you would like, I will send it to you so you can read it. Otherwise, it would have to wait until sometime next year after the publication rights reverted back to me. - Gary

Hi, Gary thanks for the nice visit. how about a new poem. I do hope you give my contest a try. Senryu are big here on the soup, and hikus. DEBBIE, on the bottom must had been impressed by the senryu, she happens to be the queen and teacher of the forms here on the soup. So, I am proud of your first post once again. Take care. ..Linda

Thank you for the kind words, Linda. I just entered your contest, but I'm afraid it was another senryu, not a free verse. I'll see if I can find one of my older poems to post. I wrote a lot of free verse in college. Some of it was pretty good. I had the interesting circumstance to be in the advanced poetry class with a dozen women and no other guys. - Gary

Thank you for the welcome, Linda. I just looked at your contest "Playing with fire." That certainly opens up possibilities. I'll give it some thought and see what I can come up with. I'm not sure how much of my poetry I will be posting here as I am submitting some to publishers that only accept original, unpublished work, but if you would like to read something else, give me an idea of what what subject you might like and I will see what I might have (or can come up with).
